Disambiguation link notification for July 9
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of libraries in Victoria, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shire of South Gippsland. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello! I noticed you expanded the List of Libraries in Victoria article. Thank you for that! However, I'd spent a bit of time editing it so that it wasn't just a list of places that have libraries (e.g. City of Melbourne) but the name of the library system (as many are not just named after the area they are in) and I noticed that you have changed it back to being more like a list of cities that have libraries again. What is the reasoning for this, as it seems much less informative than using the library system's actual names. -- NotCharizard 🗨 08:07, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. I was attempting to preserve how the List of libraries in Melbourne article organised library services by inner city, northern suburbs, etc., and that wouldn't have been possible while retaining the muncipality name then libraries format of that article. I understand the reasoning for listing by each library service but I felt that the name of the municipality is interchangeable with the name of the library service considering most follow the city/shire of so and so library service naming convention. For muncipalities that pool their libraries together in regional library models, I took care to specify that after each municipality where it was relevant.
- However, I can see the merit of using the library service name so I can change that then include municipality names in brackets and remove the inner city, northern suburbs, Barwon South West, Gippsland etc. groupings so that regional library corporations that cross those regions don't have to be listed repeatedly.
