أحمد محمد أحمد عبد العظيم (Ahmed M. Abdel-Azeem) عالم فطريات مصرى واستاذ جامعى بكلية العلومجامعة قناة السويس بـ مصر ومؤسس و رئيس مجلس إدارة الجمعية العربية للحفاظ على الفطريات أول جمعية تعمل على الحفاظ على الفطريات فى الوطن العربى ودول شمال افريقيا وثانى جمعية للحفاظ على الفطريات فى العالم بعد الجمعية الدولية للحفاظ على الفطريات بإنجلترا. وقد قام عبد العظيم والجمعية العربية للحفاظ على الفطريات بإشهار اليوم الوطنى لفطريات مصر لتصبح مصر ثانى دولة بعد انجلترا تحتفل بهذا اليوم فى العشرين من فبراير وقد تم إشهاره فى مكتبة الاسكندرية لأول مرة فى 2016. عبد العظيم له عدة مبادرات لتطوير التعليم والتنمية المستدامة والبيئة ومنها لعلوم عبر مصر Science Across Egypt مع جيهان سامى سليمان وعدد من العلماء والخريجين. وقد ساهم عبد العظيم فى خدمة المجتمعات المحلية فى جنوب سيناء بإنشاء مركز للخدمات البيئية والاجتماعية ممولا من الإتحاد الاوروبى. وعبد العظيم أول عالم من مصر يحصل على منحة من موسوعة الحياة (EOL) لتوثيق الفطريات المصرية فى عام 2011 ومن صندوق محمد بن زايد للحفاظ على الأنواع لدراسة الفطريات بمنطقة دلتا مصر. وقد انتخب عبد لعظيم كعضو اللجنة التنفيذية للرابطة الدولية للفطريات ممثلا لدول شمال افريقيا والشرق الاوسط.
