Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited United States cities by crime rate (40,000–60,000), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Union Township, New Jersey (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File source problem with File:Kc-times.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kc-times.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (talk • contribs) 02:58, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mike Sanders (Missouri politician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't seem to meet WP:POLITICIAN

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Missouri h.s. sports championsips

[edit]

Hi Americasroof. Hoping to pick your brain a moment. I've recently created (or partly created) List of Missouri state high school girls basketball championships as a companion to the boys championships and other similar lists for Mo. volleyball and football. My problem: The MSHSAA reference I found, well "cribbed", off the other articles (the .pdf) only lists championships in all sports through 2007. I noticed you had filled in the info for years since then on some of the other lists so I'm hoping you can direct me to a source for the years 2008-2012/13 for MSHSAA sanctioned activities. In the future I hope to create lists for baseball and wrestling too. Any help greatly appreciated! Sector001 (talk) 07:05, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing that (I had intended to do it once upon a time). You obviously found the reference for the starting point http://www.mshsaa.org/resources/pdf/State%20Championship%20Histories%20by%20Sport.pdf with the girls on page 135. I don't see an updated record book on the site. You will probably have to piece it together either by doing Google searches or perhaps even asking the MSHSAA for a list for 2007-2013. I had updated the football and boys basketball list each year by merely looking at news article. Again thanks for doing this.Americasroof (talk) 13:09, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Update: Look at the bracket http://www.mshsaa.org/Activities/DistrictWinners.aspx?alg=6&class=5 In the upper right corner they have a drop down box that gives you the winners/scores etc. by division for the intervening years The only drama is finding the coach name but with that info you can probably google them. In 20/20 I probably would not have put the coach name on the list. Again thanks for doing this!Americasroof (talk) 13:15, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bare URLs in citations

[edit]

I read with great interest your additions to Peru, Nebraska and related articles. If I may suggest it, could you try to format citations? You've put in citations, but they've been bare URLs, which can be a source of problems. There's more about that at WP:BURL.

I've fixed the citations at Peru, Nebraska, Nemaha County, Nebraska, and Peru State College. I'll let you take care of them on the east side of the Missouri. Thanks. Ammodramus (talk) 17:37, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I tend to use bare references and then go back and rescue them with the reflinks http://toolserver.org/~dispenser/view/Reflinks I'm very delighted to see your work on Nebraska articles. Items on small towns such as Peru tend to get lost. Thanks again. I will clean up the Missouri side too.Americasroof (talk) 14:29, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:Kc-times.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

I have given up trying to defend non-free photos even though I think it's a fair use of the logo of a now defunct company.Americasroof (talk) 12:10, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Transit Hotel a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Transit Hotel (Edmonton). This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. 117Avenue (talk) 04:12, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sig line problems

[edit]

Hi there. I notice you're having problems with your signature line appearing when you post on the talk page. Make sure you're using four tildes (~~~~) instead of five (~~~~~). Four will generate your sig line, while five will just generate a time-stamp, which is what it looks like you're doing unintentionally. Also, take a look at your Preferences (up above, next to where your login appears) and see how your Signature appears. If you have other problems, please feel free to ask here or on my talk page. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Stargazer-manorville.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Diannaa (talk) 17:32, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Pony-express-logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pony-express-logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 15:10, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Cerner Corporation entry

[edit]

Hello, my name is Matt. For full disclosure, I work for Cerner in the Marketing department. In reviewing the Cerner entry, I noticed that you made several of the most recent (albeit several years ago) edits to the page. Wanted to ask your opinion on suggesting edits to the entry.

In reviewing current best practices to avoid COI, seems like making suggested edits on the Talk page and asking the community to review/verify is the best course of action. Is this the case in your experience? I'm happy to do that, and I understand the requirements for edits (factual, sourced, non-puffery, etc.). Or, is there a way for me to identify a specific admin/user to work with on the entry?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for making the inquiry. I'm not as active as I once was. My interest is in Missouri and Kansas City history so any changes that I focus on would mostly be in history. Thanks for your feedback. I represent Walmart's Corporate Communications team so I used the name to be as transparent as possible.

I'm editing the page back, because, as it currently stands, it is factually incorrect.

Doug was indeed born in Tulsa and grew up in Jonesboro. Our corporate site says only "Originally from Jonesboro."

Furthermore, Doug was elected CEO effective Feb. 1 so that part needs to be changed as well. http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2013/11/25/doug-mcmillon-elected-new-chief-executive-officer-of-wal-mart-stores-inc — Preceding unsigned comment added by WalmartNewsroom (talkcontribs) 13:26, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I left a message on your talk. I will leave the Memphis birth in and added that he grew up in Jonesboro (the Arkansas connections are obviously quite important). Since Wikipedia needs references could you please include the Memphis birth in your corporate biographies. BTW the reason your corporate name is a hot button is that it is too easy for people to pretend they are something they are not. That's one of the biggest reasons it's frowned upon.
