History
[edit]5nine Software is a privately held company which was founded in 2009 by Konstantin Malkov[1]. The first products released by 5nine were virtualization migration solutions (P2V and V2V)[2] and 5nine Virtual Firewall[3] which evolved into 5nine’s flagship virtualization security solution 5nine Cloud Security released in 2013[4].

In 2014 5nine received a new investment round from Insight Venture Partners and the founders of Veeam Software. With this investment, Michael Triplett, Managing Director at Insight Venture Partners, and Ratmir Timashev, Founder and CEO of Veeam Software joined 5nine's Board of Directors[6] [7].
In early 2015 former Microsoft's Senior Technical Evangelist Symon Perriman joined 5nine as VP of Business Development[8]. At Microsoft, he was a worldwide technical lead covering Hyper-V, Windows Server, System Center and Azure Pack.
