Re: TVRage
[edit]Hello! Thanks for contacting me about that. I added the site to the spam blacklist after a request, stating that the site was being spammed and that it offered little additional value. After looking at the background, I agreed with the request and blacklisted the site, noting that it was only linked to from three English Wikipedia pages, with one being a user page and another an image. I'm not sure what you mean by "Russian section", as I don't see contributions to Russian articles here on the English Wikipedia. Did you mean on the Russian Wikipedia? If so, you could request local whitelisting (MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist) at the Russian Wikipedia, which will allow the site to be linked to from that project. Let me know if that would solve the problem, or if you believe that the site should be removed from the spam blacklist. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 02:25, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. Please also see m:Talk:Spam_blacklist#tvrage.com_2 for more discussion of this. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 02:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry for my indistinct English, I meant Russian Wikipedia indeed; I had mentioned links to TVRage in some of my Russian articles (ru:Raw Toonage, ru:House of Mouse), and all of them (links; not articles) got deleted. Not really a big deal, since there still remain links to similar projects, like TV.com or BCDB.com, but I was just wondering what could make the Administrators blacklist this particular site.
- I would disagree about "little additional value", some TV series there are described much better than at, say, TV.com.
- However I am not taking the responsibility of claiming that the site should be removed from the spam list. If the site owner abused Wikipedia, agressively advertising his project, which resulted in total ban of TVRage, let it be so.
- Thanks for your response anyways.
