Referencing for Monique Brynnel
Hi Amaryllis
Thanks for your contact and advice.I am writing about Monique Brynnel Opera singer on her behalf. The information for her bio has been what she has written to me about her life. Some comments on GA nomination of Kajaani
Hi Amaryllis,
I noticed that you nominated Kajaani for GA. I plan to take on the review after I finish the ones I'm in the middle of now. (Yes, I did get eliminated from the GA Cup, but I'm still doing reviews anyway.) Before the formal review GA review, however, there's a couple of things that you may want to address. First, the entire fourth paragraph under the "History" section is unsourced. Second, and perhaps less importantly, the main source seems to be primary, as it is the city's official website. Just thought I'd let you know. Thanks, --Biblioworm 02:25, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Forced adoption in Norway
Hi,
I moved a link to official statement of Norwegian embassy in Prague from "external links" to "references" (and I hope Norwegian embassy is a reliable source) And I added some info about the case of Indian couple and a reference to BBC article. I have also found just now that this topic si partially covered here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_Welfare_Services_(Norway) and there are some references as well. So there is some duplicity here, but I think that this is quite important issue and because there is already an article "Forced adoption in U.K", I think that it would be OK to have a separate article about the Norway as well. I suggest to copy the relevant content from Childe Welfare Service (Norway) to this article and create just a link there. I can also provide a lot of links to Czech mainstream media but there are in Czech, of course, so I do not know if they qualify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Varenucha (talk • contribs) 19:22, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

I wish you the best of luck with your draft! Regards, --AmaryllisGardener talk 19:27, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
- @AmaryllisGardener: Frankly speaking I do not know what you want from me. I do not understand what is the difference if the citation is at the header or somewhere in the text, whnen the whole section is about the same matter. You have there an official statement of Norwegian embassy, and if you would read it, you would know that the story is true. Also, as I pointed out, the issue is already mentioned in another article, so I guess it was already approved.
I have other work to do. I do not have time for studying everything about creating wikipedia articles. I created an article because I think this matter is very important so it deserves a separate article. And because it is my first article I know it is not perfect. Hi Amaryllis,
I have removed the Alexia ranking for the CD page because it is all about advertising. Are you familiar with CD? They generate money through advertisements on the CD website.
Why does it matter how "popular" that site is? This is what Alexia Rankings are used for: "Alexa's tools transform raw data into meaningful insights that lead to real competitive advantage for your business" This type of data is being used by CD to promote and advertise themselves. It has no business being on Wiki.
You did not edit the Alexia Ranking correctly. There is an US Ranking and a Global Ranking. This ranking changes daily which is another reason it is disingenuous to include it on the wiki page.
Again this type of information is nothing more than for the purpose of advertising their website.
This edit also falls under original research. If anyone is truly interested in learning about CD's Alexia Ranking they can look it up themselves (original research)
DeDe4Truth (talk) 19:41, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- @DeDe4Truth: I cited Alexa's website, so it's not orginial research. The ranking was the global one, which is the one that is standard, using a US ranking would be geographically bias. Like I said before, we have a ranking for WikiLeaks, and we're definitely not trying to advertise them. It's neat to see the popularity of a given site. Please revert your edit, if you want to have Alexa ranks removed from all website articles, then bring it up at Template talk:Infobox website, don't remove it from it article. --AmaryllisGardener talk 19:48, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
@AmaryllisGardener Please stop assuming what WikiLeaks and CD uses the Alexia Rankings for. Great if WikiLeaks is not using the Alexia Rankings for advertising purposes. However CD is. Most of what I previously edited out of that page were touting advertisement's for CD. The Alexia Rankings are just another advertisement tool for them. Also please stop brining WikiLeaks into this. CD and WikiLeaks serve two completely different purposes.
I also sited a lot of information on that page and freerangefrog deleted it and said it falls under original research...so does the Alexia Ranking.
Alexia Rankings change daily thus this is a disingenuous representation of the actual number. Anyone can look this information up for themselves.
DeDe4Truth (talk) 20:02, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- @DeDe4Truth: 1. Alexa.com is a reliable source for Alexa rankings, whereas a forum is not a reliable source for controversy (See WP:RS). 2. How do you know that CD uses their Alexa rank as advertising (here on Wikipedia)? 3. Even if they did add the Alexa rank here as advertising, I'm not advertising when I put it back in the infobox where it has a parameter (see Template:Infobox website), I'm just a volunteer like you. --AmaryllisGardener talk 20:32, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi AmaryllisGardener,
I have a few CD moderator friends and have learned from them that CD will use any means to protect or promote their website. I deleted all of their Wiki advertisements that touted how many registered members they have and how much prize money they give away to registered members. CD generates a lot of money from their site and they do this by allowing advertising. It looks appealing to potential advertisers to see that a website is generating a lot of traffic. If you take a look at all the things I deleted from the CD page they were all related to promoting or advertising the CD website. It is not rocket science to see their intentions.
You are not being truthful in posting the Alexa Ranking without explaining that you are only using the global ranking and that the traffic rank is based on three months of aggregated historical traffic data from millions of Alexa Toolbar users and is a combined measure of page views and users (reach).
With respect to your comment about me posting forum links...I not only included forum links to my initial edits but the BBB and CD's own website to alert anyone who is thinking about signing up that once signed up your account will never be deleted. You can ask and they will just change your screen status to Not A Member but they will not delete your account. This is just another smoke screen tactic used by the CD owner to falsely tout how many registered users they have.
Why is it important to you to help CD advertise their traffic?
It is important to keep Wiki free from websites promoting themselves.

- It isn't important to me to advertise their traffic, I don't care about that. What is important to me is that Wikipedia keep Alexa ranks, which aren't here for advertising purposes. Not much more I can say. --AmaryllisGardener talk 23:48, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
Happy First Edit Day
- Why thank you, Lizzie Harrison! It's been a great two years! --AmaryllisGardener talk 20:48, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
