Start over on David Hafler

[edit]

I see your article has been erased as a copyright violation. But lets start over. Wikipedia is a formal encyclopedia, and like writing a university paper, takes copying very seriously. Besides, it's illegal and Wikipedia can get taken down by the US government if it does not enforce copyright carefully. Even if it is material you have written yourself, if it has appeared anywhere, even briefly, it is under copyright and not allowed. Besides, as you have seen, such material isn't written in encyclopedic form anyway and has to be rewritten to be in Wikipedia. So start over and put in the material in your own words.

Work in Draft:David Halfer. During the approval process it can get moved to David A. Hafler. I will start Draft:David A. Hafler. I'll put in a reference to his curriculum vitae for a start. Happy editing. StarryGrandma (talk) 19:37, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:David A. Hafler, MD (photo).png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You can ask Yale for permission to upload the image. Here is another researcher's picture that has the proper permissions: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dr._Stephen_Hauser.jpg. See https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Permission for how to proceed. StarryGrandma (talk) 19:29, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
