Replaceable fair use File:San Gimignano Collegiate Church interior.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:San Gimignano Collegiate Church interior.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 18:54, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Organists of UK cathedrals

Hello,

You seem to have removed references to Organists (etc.) from each UK cathedral page and put them all into one. I think it would be sensible at least to have current occupants of the posts in the site of the individual cathedral - after all you don't hide cathedral clergy away on a page elsewhere - so why the musicians?

Cheers, Fran — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frambrose (talkcontribs) 17:53, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Hardcore distraction. (Watch your backs, everyone.) Talk:Tuyuhun invasion of Gansu

Amanda, when you raised doubts about whether that dance was truly "obscene", "lewd" and "erotic", did you actually study the supplied image: a figurine moulded, certainly, at the very moment of the event? I will take the liberty of picturing it. Can you honestly say that you have seen anything more blatantly pornographic? I mean, if you observe the folds of her skirt you can be pretty sure that it is hiding legs. (Ugh!!!!) And might those even be breasts behind her blouse? Persistant disruptive edits on articles labeled "LGBT People from Italy"

Three months ago, the same user began to make systematic disruptive edits from different computers on Benvenuto Cellini, Poliziano, Torquato Tasso and Lucio Dalla among others.

The different IPs used by this person, probably Guido Lonchile (talk · contribs), are, for the more recent ones :

217.203.129.136 (talk · contribs), 95.74.248.0 (talk · contribs) and 109.52.145.74 (talk · contribs) for Torquato Tasso

217.203.139.73 (talk · contribs), 95.75.19.58 (talk · contribs)and 109.52.145.74 (talk · contribs) for Benvenuto Cellini

95.74.240.181 (talk · contribs), 217.203.139.73 (talk · contribs), 109.54.162.138 (talk · contribs) and B. River (talk · contribs), specifically created on this purpose for Poliziano.

Isn't it possible to block that person or to protect these articles ? Frimoussou (talk) 22:36, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Re:Sistine Chapel

I don't plan on making any further changes to the images on that article. I agree that they're a bit of a mess and hope you can find a better replacement for the file I added to the infobox. Just looked and the changes you have made so far are an improvement. -- Hazhk Talk to me 02:11, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Temptations of Christ (Botticelli), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fast (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ancient Greek domestic architecture

Thank you, Amandajm, for your very good start in organizing the addition of domestic architecture to Ancient Greek architecture. Your addition of the photographs and plan was particularly helpful. Blanchette (talk) 16:47, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Architecture of Germany may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Re:Pieta

Thanks for reverting that addition. It was added against my better judgement and was more about balancing the lengths of the captions than adding information completely relevant to the artworks themselves - bad intentions on my part. I did question whether to include the 'trivia', so I'm glad you spotted it. Now I'll think a little longer about the relevance of my future edits to captions! -- Hazhk Talk to me 00:06, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

St Johns Church Fremantle

Thanks for the copy edits of this article at DYK - lots of improvements. This is one of several about Fremantle including Norfolk Hotel, Fremantle, George Alfred Davies, Mary Higham and Fremantle Cemetery. If you would like to add or improve these then Id be happy to share the credit. Meanwhile, thanks Victuallers (talk) 12:34, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Backstage pass and editathon

Hi Amandajm,

I hope you can come to the first Australian backstage pass and editathon event hosted by an Australian cultural institution, (namely the State Library of New South Wales) on 23 November. The library is making available for us:
- one of its best rooms (a private and spacious one);
- its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves);
- a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course
- items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the topic of WWI, the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

The topic is WWI - specifically women, the home front, the war's social context and impact, all of which are quite poorly covered compared to the military history. Here is the Project page on meta where you can sign up. (Signing up helps for catering.) Whiteghost.ink (talk) 08:19, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

About color adjustments on my photos

First of all, thank you for pointing out the color issue with my County Farm Park photos: I really do appreciate the heads-up. I'm a GIMP user (I don't have Photoshop), and I think I've found the right tool for the job: "White Balance" (not "Color Enhancer", which looks overdone, as you warned me about). The color-adjusted County Farm Park photos can be found here. Also, I have two batches of University of Michigan soccer images that were taken in bright sunlight, one (men's) that has been color adjusted and another (women's) that has not. Please let me know what you think of my color adjustments (I think they are a clear improvement, but I'm a rank newcomer to this practice, and I would greatly value your opinion). I have a few other sets of photos that were taken in bright sunlight, and I'd be more than happy to get to work on adjusting their color if I am indeed doing the right thing with the first couple sets. Thanks again, and take care! (Feel free to either respond here or on my user talk page.) Michael Barera (talk) 03:43, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
