Orphaned non-free image File:XLOC Logo White.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:XLOC Logo White.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:26, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:XLOC Logo White.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:XLOC Logo White.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:02, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
XLOC
[edit]You made a request at Wikipedia:Changing username to move User:XLOC to XLOC. First, User:XLOC is a non-existent user. You pushed User:Amanda Griffin/XLOC to User:XLOC, when you should have pushed it to XLOC. The content of User:XLOC has been moved to XLOC, and I've marked User:XLOC with {{db-u2}} because it's a non-existent user and therefore candidate for speedy deletion {see Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#User_pages) (and it has now been deleted). Second, the XLOC article you've created is largely a copyright violation of the XLOC web site. I'm tagging it as a copyright violation. Third, are you in any way involved in XLOC? If so, your creating an article on XLOC may constitute a violation of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:56, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Removal of copyright violation tag
[edit]I strongly encourage you to NOT remove the copyright violation notice on XLOC until it has been reviewed and handled by an administrator. Wikipedia takes copyright violations quite seriously. The content of the page you have created is largely copied from [1], making it a copyright violation. Further, even if it wasn't a copyright violation, it sounds very strongly as self promotion. Again, see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest as I directed you earlier. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:05, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Please read this policy and do not edit about your employer, except within the terms outlined in the policy, which are very restrictive. --Dweller (talk) 16:39, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:53, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
XLOC
[edit]Re; your message on my talk page (we can keep the discussion here on your talk page).
This article has been deleted as a copyright violation. See the deletion log. You've created a working file at Talk:XLOC/Temp which is fine, and you've removed the copyright violating text. That's great!
The article still reads a bit like advertising copy. I'd remove "with more than 45 years of production, programming and development experience", "two gaming gurus with a long history in game localization".
Find external sources to Wikipedia and XLOC itself to support facts and additional content for the article.
Looking better!
Also, File:XLOC Logo White.jpg is missing a fair use rationale. Please see Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline for guidance on how to construct a fair use rationale. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:26, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
RE: XLOC
[edit]RE; Thank you SOOOO much for your help. I am really trying hard but all of this is new and hard to understand! Ok I will make those edits that you suggested, and I am trying to find more external links, but its hard because they just started doing PR and have not made any annoucements before this year. Can you review now? Also, I'm not sure what to do about the logo because it is not copyrighted.
Thanks again!

RE: RE: XLOC
[edit]Ok I have added the fair use clause to the image, and updated the Talk:XLOC/Temp page. Please let me know if this is suitable and if I can publish the article now.
Thanks so much.
