Thank you!
Thanks for all the great information on getting started with Wikipedia and using archival content to improve and expand Wikipedia articles. Venlejes (talk) 18:02, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Hello Amanda! best, Diane d'AlmeidaDalmeida9 (talk) 18:04, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Amanda, and thanks for your comments at the Clarence "Jeep" Jones deletion discussion. If you are helping with this class, can you please get ahold of Matt and tell him to do something NOW with those sources he said he has? Take a look at his talk page and you can see that both KDS4444 and I have been encouraging him, trying to help him, and warning him with increasing urgency that he doesn't have unlimited time to save this article. Actually, the current discussion cycle will close next Monday, April 6. I even sent him an email telling him this. He wouldn't even actually have to cite the sources in the text at this time (though he does have to do that later). He could just list them at the bottom of the article under "additional references" or "further reading" or some such heading - just so we can see what he has. There are a lot of people who want to save this article, but we may not be able to do it without Matt at least showing us what kind of sources are available. It's his assignment, after all; he needs to step up and take responsibility for it. Thanks. --MelanieN (talk) 23:50, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks MelanieN -- we looked at it today and spoke about a path forward, so hopefully he'll be adding some more content soon! I'm adding in some extras, too, under your suggested heading. AmandaRR123 (talk) 01:28, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Spring 2015 Online Communities
- Earthy Elissa, thanks for helping with this class, can't wait to work with you! -Enarowski (talk) 14:56, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sam the Snacker, Hi there! Trying really hard to be in this class, but currently on the waitlist. Hope to be working with you this semester! -SamDiamond88 (talk) 21:29, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Amanda! Thanks for helping out with our class! Looking forward to working with you. Best, Energetic Emily Nucomm23 (talk) 03:49, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Enarowski, SamDiamond88, and Nucomm23: Hi everyone, welcome to the class! I'm using this as a chance to test out/show you the "reply-to" function. Because I used it, you should all have gotten red notifications near your user name at the top of the screen when you logged into Wikipedia. You can use this to make sure other users see your reply on talk page conversations. (The talkback function is another way to encourage discussion on Wikipedia, but I think reply-to is easier.) Just use the syntax on this page. You don't have to use the reply-to function, and not everyone does, but I think it makes conversation easier.
- And, one more note: I re-ordered this talk page a little, so that the most recent posts are at the bottom. That's a general Wikipedia norm -- you can always find the most recent conversation at the bottom of a talk page. To leave a message for anyone on their talk page, just use the "new section" tab at the top -- it automatically makes a new are for you where you need it.
- Please let me know if you have any questions -- and welcome to Wikipedia! AmandaRR123 (talk) 14:29, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi AmandaRR123, I guess I am doing alright with my page on Momofuku-Milk Bar. I am a little frustrated with all the back and forth between myself and JesseRafe. I am just trying to figure out how I can use some of that content that keeps getting deleted since i feel like the page is not developed enough without it. I am just not sure what else I can add that won't be deleted. Nwells1229 (talk) 03:12, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi AmandaRR123, Hope you're doing well! I had a quick question in regards to changing the title of my Wikipedia page. I think it would be stronger (and easier to search for) without the "the". I want it to read "Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative". Is there an easy way to change this? I couldn't seem to find it in Wikipedia's guidelines. Thanks! -- Jretrum (talk) 21:46, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
A new reference tool
Hello Books & Bytes subscribers. There is a new Visual Editor reference feature in development called Citoid. It is designed to "auto-fill" references using a URL or DOI. We would really appreciate you testing whether TWL partners' references work in Citoid. Sharing your results will help the developers fix bugs and improve the system. If you have a few minutes, please visit the testing page for simple instructions on how to try this new tool. Regards, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:47, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
