[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Hugh Jackman, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 21:59, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Hugh Jackman, you may be blocked from editing. Just because you believe that the content doesn't belong there, doesn't mean that you're right. Please discuss on the talk page first. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 12:29, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at Hugh Jackman shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Hello, this is just an anon, but I was looking at the Seth MacFarlane page and I noticed that it's missing the notice of his work in the Science documentary The Cosmos. He was an Executive Producer of the series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.185.218.155 (talk) 14:44, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
Your edits
[edit]Hello,
I have undone your edit to Seth MacFarlane. Please note that there is a discussion and consensus at Talk: Seth MacFarlane over what occupations should be included in the infobox. If you think more occupations should be included then you should start a discussion there. Thanks and please do not hesitate to make contact if you should have any questions.--5 albert square (talk) 23:09, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- OK, I've done some digging around in the archives and you can find the original discussion here.--5 albert square (talk) 23:17, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- Alpha Sunshine, you are at edit-warring at Seth MacFarlane, and I see that in your short time on Wikipedia you've already been involved in edit-warring at other articles. This is not acceptable. When you are reverted, the next step is to go on the talk page to discuss your edit, and not revert your edit back. There's an essay about this at WP:BRD. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:20, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- Fair enough, although Talk:Seth MacFarlane would be the proper venue. As I explained in my edit summary, and without taking time to dig out the infobox template and quote from it, the occupation field is only supposed to list the occupations for which a subject is most notable and primarily known. It's not meant to be a laundry list of every kind of work a person does. MacFarlane does comedy; so has Kirk Douglas, in comedy movies. But that doesn't mean we put "comedian" in Kirk Douglas' infobox. MacFarlane is primarily known as a writer-producer-director and singer-songwriter. He is not primarily known as an actor or standup comic. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:30, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- Not an actor? What! Have you seen Family Guy or A Million Ways to Die in the West. Look at Seth MacFarlane filmography. Alpha Sunshine (talk) 23:34, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- He writes for Family Guy so that would be covered by writer in his infobox. As for A Million Ways to Die in the West, he directed that and director is mentioned in the infobox. Not everything needs to be mentioned. I can see that you have started a discussion on the talk page but at the minute the page will need to stay without actor etc mentioned as this is the current consensus.--5 albert square (talk) 23:44, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- Nobody has agreed to it except for you guys. This whole argument is getting ridiculous. Alpha Sunshine (talk) 23:46, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Seth MacFarlane. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 5 albert square (talk) 23:32, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
