Sandbot on Wikipedia:Introduction
[edit]It seems that Sandbot isn't working quite right on this page - i.e. it is not running (or it is not running every 30 min). Can you take a look at it? TIA - Jim Trödel 15:22, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- I need to start scheduling this stuff. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:40, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Sandbox Heading
[edit]Could you possibly have the sandbot revert to include this addition? http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Please_leave_this_line_alone_%28sandbox_heading%29&oldid=45009237
- Please sign your username. Thanks! --AllyUnion (talk) 06:40, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia bots - new approvals method
[edit]There is a new approvals method proposed at WT:BOTS. You have been placed on the approvals group. You can remove yourself from the list if you wish.--Commander Keane 02:59, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
reset.cgi script
[edit]Your sandbot reset script is usefull. Can we use it for other wikipedias also? Perhaps you can add parameter such as ..cgi-bin/sandbot/reset-x1.cgi?wikipedia=en?page=Wikipedia:Sandbox ,therefor we can call the sandot to reset other wikipedia by provide it with custom parameter. borgx (talk) 05:11, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- That will require revisiting the script. The only problem with this is that all the Wikipedias tend to reset their Sandboxes differently. If you can provide me a more detailed information from how the sandboxes are reset on individual Wikipedias, I can do that. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:33, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Issue with AfD:Yesterday bot
[edit]Clicking on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/Today brings up 30 March. Clicking on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/Yesterday brings up 25 March. Is there a bot that's not running? Thanks. Fan1967 00:30, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- The bot is not running, it is likely my scripts are all broken. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:32, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Greetings from a felow botmaster
[edit]Hey there, I have nothing to request from you this time but after noticing your LONG MIA status decided to post this with high hopes of luring you back on board. --Cool CatTalk|@ 16:51, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
- I got hired at a Network Operations Center, about three months ago. Since then, I've been busy. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:31, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
AfD Bot
[edit]I don't see a new listing for today and its been several hours, is the bot malfunctioning, or is something else wrong? --Hetar 06:27, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Likely malfunctioning and completely out of date. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:31, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Copyright problems.

I'm also adding correct tags. 65.95.241.143 didn't know how to do this. --GunnarRene 00:22, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

re:Kurando San and FPC
[edit]Despite the fact that Kurando san is down I just wanted to let you know if you ever do decide to bring it back up that the time limit on featured picture candidacies has been changed from 14 days to 7 days so you should adjust the bot accordingly. Since a fair amount of polling is currently going on in regards to the procedures for fpc you might want to verify that everything is still inline (including time limits) before re-starting him which I hope you will decide to do. Thanks. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 04:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- A lot of code, it looks like, I will have to revisit. Basically, since I've been out for the count so long, I need to re-make a lot of my code. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:29, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
wikifun
[edit]hey ally, larsie here, you may remember me from my starting the wikifun page. well i'm back. i've been totally busy promoting and markerting a new business [1]. ideally what id like to do is promote the wikifun page as much as possible and get it going again. reason being i saw on the discussion page this "this participation made me learn several features of WP I didn't yet know", so there is oviously a benefit other than fun that is present in the page. what do you think? i've noticed that the community portals links are all gone to that page as well. i'm going to have a lot of time on my hands coming up so ill certainly be available. --Larsie 06:34, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- Send me an email, and I can get you some questions I guess. --AllyUnion (talk) 06:28, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Approvals group
[edit]Just wanted to let you know that I have removed references to the approvals group from both the main bots page and the approvals page. See Wikipedia Talk:Bots for my reasoning. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 00:31, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Sandbot
[edit]I would like the sandbot to clean my sandbox at User:GeorgeMoney/sandbox -thanks --GeorgeMoneyTalk Contribs 03:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- The current version of the bot is currently and likely not functioning correctly. Please bare with me while it is being repaired. --AllyUnion (talk) 08:57, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
Sandbox shouldn't be blank
[edit]This is just my opinion but I don't think the sandbox should be always blank. New users would probably benefit from having some sample text in there they can practice modifying, wikifying, etc. GT 09:22, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- The French Wikipedia used a template to wipe their sandbox clean with sample text... Discuss this with the community. I would like to see some kind of project wide standard, really, so I can write a generic bot. --AllyUnion (talk) 11:30, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
