Happy Easter 2008. We will not see Easter this early again in our lifetimes, most likely, unless we will live for another 152 years. From the article on Easter: The calculations for the date of Easter are somewhat complicated. In the Western Church, Easter has not fallen on the earliest of the 35 possible dates, March 22, since 1818, and will not do so again until 2285. It did, however, fall on March 23 in 2008, but will not do so again until 2160. Peace brother.Becksguy (talk) 01:12, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Also a big thanks to Cynthia Cooper and her husband Lance. We met Cynthia the night of the fire. She was staying at her dad's home a street over from ours. They heard the fire trucks, saw the flames, and came to our aid. They provided us with $300 cash at 2:00 AM and spent the whole time with us as we watched the house burn. She also raised $1000 from friends for us. A true blessing she has been. She gave Todd an acoustic guitar as all of his guitars burned up. - ALLSTAR echo 04:03, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi Allstarecho. Per WP:V, content on Wikipedia must be sourced, and unsourced content can be removed. This applies to people included on lists of "notable" people, to ensure they are exactly that. Wikipedia requires evidence to ensure our content standards are upheld, which effectively requires people on such lists have their own WP:BIO compliant article. In the rare event that such an article cannot be created, or as an temporary or interim measure, the very least that is required is a citation to an external reliable source which demonstrates the individual meets the notability criteria. Please don't add or restore unsourced content to Wikipedia. Thanks, Deiz talk 13:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I readded some of the content to the page, along with citations. I didn't add some of them back, though — either because I couldn't find a source or because I didn't think they were notable enough to be included anyways. --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 18:13, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

He has to be the most bored person on this planet. I hope he reads this too. He just likes to argue and have the last word even if he is completely wrong. Notice not a single admin has replied to him and notice he didn't deny that he was watchlisting your page and removed those categories on purpose while you were away. I'm waiting for him to run to ANI and say, "APK said I was bored!! That's a personal attack! Someone, pay attention to me!!" AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 05:59, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

It's so obvious to anyone who knows the history beginning with the userbox issue, to the removal of categories from my user page, what his motive is here. This is why I will not participate any further in the discussion at WQA. Beating a dead horse indeed, let him beat himself to death. And as if I've had much time to write any articles.. no, I've only been dealing with my home having burned down. I know that's been made clear to anyone who keeps up with this page but I guess some people just don't get obviousness. Then again, anyone crying "write an article!" would do well to follow that advice rather than worry about some content on a humor page that doesn't mention a single person. Personal attack indeed. ;] - ALLSTAR echo 10:33, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Seriously, how old is this kid? I love how he's telling me to go work on articles. Compare his recent contributions to mine. He's one of those kids that always wants the last word. Oh yeah, I forgot, I gathered some links for you to help you make your rebuttal (since you have limited access due to your home situation). He thinks that I am compiling evidence and speaking on behalf of you. I don't think his accusations are with merit because I do more good than bad on Wikipedia (i.e. upload free images, article building, GAs/FAs/DYK, reverting vandalism, banner creations, etc.). He has not done anything of that nature, except to disrupt the process. Also, I do not care if he wants to have a pity fit over someone bringing light to his actions. When he AfD those articles, I literally was very angry to my soul, because I wanted to make AKA featured on Jan. 15, 2008, as a part of the centennial celebration. However, that did not occur. The AfD process slowed down the FA nom, IMHO. His nomination of articles which one user solely has worked on without notifying them is considered stalking. When I see that he is trolling and acting uncivil to other users than me, harassing, etc., actions immediately need to be made. He has been warned many times to stop his POV pushing behavior, (once with Wikiquette alerts, two mediation cabals, etc.), and I truly think this user wants to get his own way instead of having consensus made by other users. I am going to ask Alan.ca to comment because he has interacted with Justin before. Also, I am not asking for external comments, yet. So if anyone has comments, please wait until we have gathered all of the evidence in order to present to the community. Thanks. miranda 02:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, he conveniently forgets my house burned down and my internet access is limited. Nevermind the fact that there may be discussions going on in email, off wiki that he is not aware of. He really should stop assuming things and wait for the final report. I'll try an work on this tomorrow now that the weekend is here and I have some "me" time. Thanks. - ALLSTAR echo 03:31, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Give me two weeks, or so. Kind of busy IRL. Also, this is an RFC, not a community ban. RFC >> Community ban. Mediation is not included, because 2 mediation cabals have existed, and I just don't feel like mediating with this user, because he will push his POV, regardless of the outcome, and disregard consensus. Also, I don't see any obvious content improvements, which is frankly sad, imho. miranda 03:13, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Arb

Hi, if you review the talk page of this article you will see that the inclusion of references to Roosevelt's possible lesbian relationship has been the subject of extensive debate, and the consensus view has been that as there's no strong evidence which supports the claims that she had lesbian relationships the article shouldn't portray her as a lesbian. I suggest that you engage the editors with an interest in Eleanor Roosevelt in discussion before riding roughshod over this consensus. Cheers, --Nick Dowling (talk) 09:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I did read the talk page before restoring the LGBT Project banner. However, WikiProject banners are not subject to content and/or consensus. If a WikiProject feels an article falls under its scope, it may tag the article with the project banner. Whether or not Roosevelt was/was not a lesbian is irrelevant in this particular case. What is relevant is that she is a gay icon, just as Judy Garland and Madonna. Therefore, Roosevelt does fall under the scope of the Wikipedia LGBT WikiProject. I will give you opportunity to restore the banner before seeking discussion elsewhere in a more formal process. Thanks. - ALLSTAR echo 14:40, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Can you please clarify what "I will give you opportunity to restore the banner before seeking discussion elsewhere in a more formal process" means? Every time someone has added Roosevelt to a LGBT category in the past it's been rapidy revoked, so you do need to discuss this if you want the tagging to stick. How about we take this discussion to the Eleanor Roosevelt article's talk page? --Nick Dowling (talk) 09:48, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Nick, and anyone else following, I have moved this discussion to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject LGBT studies#Eleanor Roosevelt. - ALLSTAR echo 16:00, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Template

I'm quite familiar with that template, as you might guess, as I am also a "regular." However, the willful, improper blanking of my contribution was so egregious that in this particular case I believe my use of that template was more than warranted. Badagnani (talk) 00:27, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I see, you're a friend of the editor whom I templated. Whatever the case, improper blanking cannot be supported, whether or not we are a friend of the editor who conducted such improper blanking. Badagnani (talk) 00:28, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, that's it buddy. Regardless, you could have simply asked why she blanked something before being a dick about it with a generic "don't do that" template. - ALLSTAR echo 00:31, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 02:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

With respect to this edit, please do not ever ever silently change a post which I have made and explicitly signed. If you believe it is wrong, indicate so separately or post to my talk. In the case above, it's quite possible I was wrong - so be it, don't change my words or numbers, use your own. I stand by all my statements here on en:wiki, right or wrong - please don't change the appearance of what I say. Thanks for pointing out if I made an error - but point it out so everyone can see it. All's cool? Franamax (talk) 07:07, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

My apologies. Generally when someone starts a tally-of-the-votes post, it can be updated by anyone - with a related edit summary - as the votes change and that's what I did. Apparently that's not the case when you start a tally-of-the-votes post. Again, my apologies. - ALLST☆R echo 12:52, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
No, that was meant to be a moment-in-time summary (which I'm thinking about removing now, haven't gone over there yet this AM) and I was drawing a conclusion from it, so the particular numbers were relevant to my conclusion. For instance, if you changed the NO's to 726, it would make it look like I couldn't reason well when I said Sam Korn's remedy had the most support, as opposed to being bad at counting the other 720 no comments. Maybe I should have been more clear that it wasn't meant to be a running tally? Franamax (talk) 15:25, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Some trolls are uglier than others

Allstarecho, noticed you removed my post from Benjiboi's talkpage. Was I too hard on Wikipedia or Durova or Matt Sanchez for you? I don't get it. Benjiboi has indicated in the past that he doesn't object to anon IPs leaving comments on his page, even if they point out discouraging aspects of the cronyism prevalent on Wikipedia - such as the pairing of Durova with Matt Sanchez. And note that the link I posted shows their coziness -- she is praised in Matt Sanchez's anti-Wikipedia blog entry as a 'hero' protecting right wingers from further persecution by 'liberal propagandists' on-Wiki. And he mentions her real name, which apparently can only be used off-Wiki and/or when praising her or it will get you banned, despite her having revealed it herself months ago doing an interview posted on You-tube regarding Wikipedia. Ask Eleemosynary. Oh you can't. Pretty sad business. As I said in my post...its more who you know.... And yea, I was sarcastic to Benjiboi, putting words in Matt's mouth directed at Benjiboi, but I even stated it was sarcasm. Benji was primarily punished merely because he was a headache to Sanchez.

So wazzup? Did he ask you to police his page? I guess the real problem is that my post 'invited' another response from nasty Matt or one of his homophobic meatpuppets - he hates gay people, especially himself, as you surely have noted from his Arbcom case and general nuttiness on-Wiki. I also see you warned this other 'troll' after their comment was also removed. To see their true colors and intent - check out his response to you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:69.86.53.26

(If I 'sign' this as an IP am I still a troll, to-be-deleted-on-sight?) 208.102.0.22 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 06:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

In this instance, "troll" isn't about physical characteristics but about being baited. While I understand the context of the diatribe you left on Benji's page, it's not constructive or conducive to building an encyclopedia - example: you posted and stirred it up which brought another IP (no doubt in my mind that it's Sanchez himself) in the attack Benji. I am also fully aware of Durova and her die-hard support for all things "Matt Sanchez". The truth is, her constant "defend Matt and his actions at all costs" caused me to finally unwatch the Sanchez article and birth the mindset of "fuck that article, they can have it". Call me jaded I guess but I'm so over the trickMatt, his hatred of the gay community but not their money via his porn films and hooker work and I'm so over dick suckers who suddenly find jesus in a pool of cum. Additionally, to answer your question, no, Benji didn't ask me to police his page.. that's just what friends do. If he wants it back, he will revert me. - ALLST☆R echo 06:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for catching all that. To answer the poster above, I wasn't particularly bothered one way or another but do concur that Matt, again, trolls me (sigh). Also the bit about Durova isn't terribly mind-blowing although it's good to have more insight who we're dealing with. Durova, like Sanchez, doesn't seem to shy away from media attention (like this) and mountains of Google hits will lead you to tales of their past actions. Frankly, I've been swayed mostly by the current trainwreck that is that article and am embarrassed to be associated with it at all. I also have learned some off-wiki information about the subject that makes me not want to have their interest in me. Anyway thank you for your thoughts and thank you Allstar for your support. Do you think the article should be tagged for Wikiproject LGBT studies? I'm torn, it seems like it might be pointlessly inflamatory to do so. The established facts are that his family considered him straight, he died in the house of three gay men, the police allege he was sexually assaulted, and much of the ongoing coverage is in the Blade. Jclemens (talk) 23:31, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, our community has to take the bad with the good and this is one of those times. Regardless of Wone's own sexual orientation, it is known that 2 of the other 3 are life-partners and the fact that the police believe Wone was raped by the other 3 men unfortunately leads me to the conclusion that the article belongs in the scope of the WikiProject. - ALLST☆R echo 03:47, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry. --Skyler :^| 02:22, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

New straw poll

You are a user who responded to RFC: Use of logos on sports team pages. As someone interested in the discussion a new straw poll has been laid out to see where we currently stand with regards to building a consensus. For the sake of clarity, please indicate your support or opposition (or neutrality) to each section, but leave discussion to the end of each section. — BQZip01 — talk 23:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

As a user who responded to the straw poll regarding non-free images in sports, your further input is requested with regards to the Straw poll summary and proposed guidelines on image use — BQZip01 — talk 01:01, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Question on a revert you made on OM football...

I hadn't logged in earlier, but I was who clarified about 'luring' the Tulane players under the 'controversy' section of OM Football... Why did you revert that edit? I was no fan of Orgeron, but the current wiki language simply seems an unfair characterization. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elguapo543 (talkcontribs)

Because the source itself says "lure". - ALLST☆R echo 17:04, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Casey Parks is not a notable alumni

Please cite specifically how the removal of Casey Parks as a notable alumni constitutes vandalism under Wikipedia policy. To quote the policy - "Repeated deletion or addition of material may violate the three-revert rule, but this is not 'vandalism' and should not be dealt with as such." Further, Wikipedia specifically notes that "edits you don't like" are NOT vandalism, and you are requested not to use the word beyond its definition.

I believe Casey, who should be commended for her accomplishments as a young author, does not yet meet the threshold of a "notable" alumni. The others in the list are professional athletes, decorated war veterans, and others notable in their profession after a lifetime of achievements. Winning one essay contest does not qualify one as a notable alumni. Nor does being friends with her or being a general advocate of the LBGT community.

Please stop adding Casey as a notable alumni. I am happy to discuss further. If you feel discussion will be insufficient to solve the dispute, then perhaps dispute resolution is the best way ahead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 214.13.181.10 (talk) 12:56, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Allstarecho, I propose we discuss this further, rather than continue in the edit war that's developed over the past couple days. I am amenable to leaving Casey's name on the page until we come to a solution. However, I would appreciate your engaging me directly, rather than immediately reporting false vandalism accusations to Wikipedia. It's in the interest of the Wikipedia community as a whole that, before running to the authorities, members attempt to resolve issues on their own. I am a graduate of Millsaps and have a vested interest in seeing our Wikipedia page present the best possible face for the school. 214.13.181.10 (talk) 06:11, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Your first few edits to the Millsaps article were done so without an edit summary, aka an explanation as to why you were removing sourced content from an article. That, coupled with the fact that you made these edits from an IP address rather than a Wikipedia account, for all intents and purposes, is considered vandalism. If you will notice, you were given a non-vandalism warning (the one for edit warring/WP:3RR) after you finally used an edit summary. As to Miss Parks, she is notable by Wikipedia standards at WP:NOTABILITY and more importantly at WP:PEOPLE. She's been written about in the news as well as having wrote news herself. She has won a major contest from a major American newspaper. She has been on MTV reporting. She's a former editor for a newspaper and is currently a reporter for a newspaper. She meets all thresholds of Wikipedia's notability rules and guidelines. Thanks. - ALLST☆R echo 13:00, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
