How to add categories
[edit]Hi, please familiarize yourself with the correct method of categorizing articles. For Category:Sound artists, in many cases you entered the name of the artist on the category page. What what you should have done is placed the category at the bottom of the article, that way the name automatically appears in the category. I've fixed it. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:30, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:JD-by-G.Stefani (thumb).jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:JD-by-G.Stefani (thumb).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 18:18, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Problems with upload of File:JohnDuncan.byM.Pasut.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:JohnDuncan.byM.Pasut.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:08, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
The file was uploaded as a free use image, with the photographer's permission. It has been uploaded again under GNU licence, hopefully this will resolve the issue. Allquestions (talk) 22:17, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Allquestions
John Duncan article
[edit]I will go through the article a tag all the bits that need a reference. Things like "His best known works" are difficult to quantify - unless it is a chart topping recording - and probably needs a more neutral wording. You may want to check that the article maintains a neutral point of view and keep in mind considerations for articles about living people. An editor could boldly reduce the article to about a third of it's current length. Lame Name (talk) 21:08, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Again, thanks. "His best known works" could have been referenced from the Swedish press, but instead I've opted for changing the phrasing. I have also deleted a couple of phrases that needed referencing (early years); for the others I've provided them and added one that wasn't mentioned. File:JDbyHS.jpg missing description details
[edit]If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:15, 16 November 2010 (UTC)File source problem with File:JDbyHS.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:JDbyHS.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:22, 17 November 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 04:22, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:JD-by-G.Stefani-crop-small.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
