Fair use rationale for Image:AMCOpen1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AMCOpen1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you.

Username

[edit]

Hello to whoever wrote the above message (unfortunately it is not signed). I have read the username policy and just wanted to make sure about your concerns. I chose this particular username because I am a fan of All My Children. Further, my edits only concern AMC-related materials on Wikipedia, as it is the only thing I am truly knowledgeable on and for which I have extensive documentation. Might you specify what it is that concerns you about my username? I shall be more than happy to reply to you once I find out more.

Thank you for your welcoming comments and I look forward to hear from you.

A bot added the above, it wasn't a real person. Names that promote something, as yours does, are against policy. You can change it to AMCFan and avoid being in violation. Just a thought. KellyAna (talk) 23:15, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to AMC

[edit]

When requesting references, don't arbitrarily remove material in question as you did here [1], first ask for citation and wait for a while before changing it. I have added the citation request and we will have to wait and see if a reference can be found and added. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. KellyAna (talk) 23:15, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I spent some time looking for a verifiable reference. Couldn't find one. I think it is safe to remove the information sometime throughout the week. I'll leave you to do that in case you found something. KellyAna (talk) 17:01, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So here's a thought, check snopes.com and list it as urban legend if they have a reference. If they don't maybe submit it to them for research. Obviously you've heard it, the editor that added it has heard it. Maybe snopes has something. Urban legend and snopes are reliable sources as long as you state "according to urban legend" which would be kind of a cool trivia bit incorporated into the article. I think that would be an addition to the article. KellyAna (talk) 03:30, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Allmychildren. My name is King Gemini. I made a userbox including All My Children, and I was wondering if I could use your photo for my userbox. The King Gemini (talk) 20:00, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:AMCOpen4.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:AMCOpen4.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
