Allen2, you are invited to the Teahouse
Hi Allen! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Yes, I might invite to the Teahouse party. --Allen talk 04:02, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Exactly why did you remove my edit? Continental is no longer an active functioning airline following the completion of the merger with United. My edit was correct in removing the Continental name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.140.65.67 (talk) 00:12, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Your signature
I noticed that your signature includes a transclusion of a page, namely User:Allen2/Signature 1. However, according to the signature guidelines, template transclusions are not allowed. Because your signature code is less than 255 characters, you can simply copy the code to your signature box. (Go to custom signatures for more information.) - Um... I'm not sure if you understand what I'm saying. Your signature should not have code that looks like
{{...}}
. I don't think that "fixing" your signature (like you did here) is a good idea. You should just leave your signature the way it was. If you change your signature, you should leave your old signature unchanged. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 02:38, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker)The biggest issue with signatures with
{{...}}
is that, if someone were to vandalize User:AllenHAcNguyen/Signature 1, and you didn't notice it, it would mess up almost every signature you've ever done. It also causes technical problems with the servers and with bots that work with talk pages.—LucasThoms 04:39, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Userbox
Hey Allen, I see that you have the {{User wikipedia/rollback}}
template on your user page, but you don't actually have that right. Would I be overstepping my boundaries if I asked why?—LucasThoms 03:40, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for leaving a message on my talk page. I have that but I didn't have rights that yet, like I reverting some vandalism edits around on Wikipedia that completely messed up. --Allen talk 04:14, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Just to confirm—you do know the difference between the undo button and the rollback right, right? That box is generally for users who already have the right, not who simply use the undo button.—LucasThoms 04:16, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- What I know the difference is undo revision (similar of that undo section) that I fix vandalism on the articles the right way. So yes, if they have rollback rights on Wikipedia, they have the rollback template box on their userboxes. :) --Allen talk 04:27, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Signature transclusion
It is also necessary to transclude signatures on Wikipedia that you sign it with signature transclusions or using four tildes to sign with more characters copied from a signature page that is substituted. --Allen talk 23:13, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- There is no valid reason for you to ever type
{{User:Allen2/Signature 1}}
. In other words, you should not go back and change your signatures that are perfectly fine to a transclusion that is not allowed. Substitutions are fine, but that is not what you have been doing.—LucasThoms 23:24, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- Also using four tildes is okay with signature substitutions, but transcluding your signatures is necessary on Wikipedia. A valid reason I typed is
{{User:Allen2/Signature}}
is where I signed it in after leaving a section of it. --Allen talk 23:29, 10 July 2014 (UTC)- Four tildes is the only way you should be signing.
{{User:Allen2/Signature}}
should never be used, whether it is a new section, a reply, or even changing a previous message.—LucasThoms 23:32, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Actually, the signature template transclusions are strictly disallowed on Wikipedia, but on Wikia it still exist with signature templates with no substitution of a signature where they signed. --Allen talk 00:44, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

One more thing
One more thing, and then I will finally leave you alone: if you decide English Wikipedia isn't the right thing for you, I highly recommend you try the Vietnamese Wikipedia, where you would probably feel more comfortable. (I am not suggesting this based on the allegations against you on Wikia, I am doing this based on your former user page that implied that Vietnamese was your first language). If you need help or anything else, please let me know! Thanks!—LucasThoms 02:28, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for leaving a new message on my talk page! Just a reminder that English is a language I speak on Wikipedia, not Vietnamese nor other languages I speak before because using a translator maybe translate to a non-sensible or gibberish thing, thank you! I did first edit on Wikipedia that I was using other languages before. However I don't use them because I don't know what I speak a lot from English to these languages, thank you. --Allen talk 02:43, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

I took a look at your contributions, and it looks like you have trouble speaking English. What language are you very good in (your native language)? Signature template transclusions
It should be allowed that way is necessary the same on Wikia but different for Wikipedia. Signature templates when signed by a user should not be substituted, only transcluded and it's often necessary to do that on Wikipedia even on Wikia also. Should it be unnecessary that way by another user is a rollbacker that reverts owner's edits on their own talk page from transcluded to substituted? Aside that I signed with {{User:Allen2/Signature}} ~~~~~
and then it's fine.
--This is a section first signed by Allen talk at 18:33, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe four tildes is better to sign it without being transcluded. --Allen talk 18:36, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
- You absolutely, positively, cannot sign using
{{User:AllenHAcNguyen/Signature}} ~~~~~
ever. Just that it is your own talk page doesn't mean that you can override policies and guidelines. Four tildes is always the right choice for signing. —LucasThoms 18:38, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

- Four tildes is better. They're used are the same on Wikia like transcluded ones are not being vandalized. If you think that's the right choice on Wikipedia, then this could be it. Transcluding signatures are not conflict on Wikipedia. --Allen talk 18:41, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
- I don't just "think" it's the right choice: the rules very clearly say that you cannot transclude your signature. I know I have said this before, but this is not Wikia and Wikia's rules do not apply here.—LucasThoms 18:46, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

- Rules are different from Wikia. Four tildes can be possible to sign with on Wikipedia according to this transcluding signatures are strictly disallowed that way. Substituted signatures contains more characters from a template than the transcluded ones. Signature transclusion test
My preferences was saved to "{{SUBST:Nosubst2|User:Allen2/Signature}}" and then sign with four tildes and it should be done. --Allen talk 00:30, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Nope, it still ends up transcluding it.—LucasThoms 00:31, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- It should be more changes on a Nosubst template, then this could be it. Signature templates are not working properly on this template page if "{{{{{1}}}}}" not existed. --Allen talk 00:37, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
New solution
Here's a different version of your signature that will look the same, but has much shorter code: —'''''<span style="color:#00f;font-family:agency fb;">[[User:Allen2|Allen]] [[User talk:Allen2|talk]]</span>'''''
.
It looks like this "—Allen talk HH:MM, DD Month YYYY (UTC)", compared to your old one "--Allen talk HH:MM, DD Month YYYY (UTC)". In other words, they're just about identical.
Your old one was 236 characters, this one is 145. Now it makes much more sense to just put that code in your preferences instead of bothering with templates. It will be easier to read when someone is editing, and it won't break any rules like your transclusions.—LucasThoms 00:58, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- That's look like it like you did the source from my template page, thanks for reminding me of this signature. --Allen talk 01:13, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- The fonts and spans are easy to customize it even the signature can be used from the template. --Allen talk 01:20, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic/International broadcast requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/My_Little_Pony_Friendship_is_Magic#International broadcast. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —LucasThoms 15:54, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for leaving a message on my talk page. I modified that the article is the same on this page and copied to this page that this was not deleted. I use to revert vandalism on Wikipedia that it was not a mistake. --Allen talk 16:47, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Lucas Thoms: This is not the article that contains content for deletion copied from the site. It's just there that was copied from the original article that was an international broadcast that was aired in some countries for the anime show. --Allen talk 17:10, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Upon further research, it looks like the Wikia is freely licensed, so the content can technically be included. Next time, however, keep in mind that CC-BY-SA requires proper attribution—failure to include this is plagiarism and copyright infringement. Another issue is that the article, because it was written on a different wiki with different rules, may not be written to our standards, or even notable enough for inclusion. I haven't looked too deeply at the article yet, but don't take it personally if it ends up getting nominated for deletion. If you have any questions, let me know! Thanks! —LucasThoms 18:03, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Lucas Thoms: I would see if I add a copyrighted content to Wikipedia from Wikia then I would add fair use in there that is not supposed to be deleted. Thank you for advising me that. --Allen talk 18:14, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Lucas Thoms: This is not the article that contains content for deletion copied from the site. It's just there that was copied from the original article that was an international broadcast that was aired in some countries for the anime show. --Allen talk 17:10, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Rollback rights
I just need rollback rights on Wikipedia as well I undid revision of article edits that has been vandalized at once. I'm going to replace the rollback userbox on my user page once I got a successful request. --Allen talk 17:44, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

- Hi, thanks for leaving a message on my talk page. That template was marked for deletion by you, so I was invited to comment on discussion page that was supposed to be deleted. Because according to WP:SIG#NT, it was strictly not allowed on Wikipedia that transcluding your signature is different from Wikia that don't apply. --Allen talk 20:34, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- I see that you signed with a template. That goes against WP:SIG#NT, so I have applied WP:SIGCLEAN (diff). --Redrose64 (talk) 22:06, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for applying WP:SIGCLEAN, with a template that you change it all of it back to my substituted signature that where I signed it before. --Allen talk 23:48, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion notification
I've nominated the following pages for speedy deletion as U2 (nonexistent user). Your use of them doesn't meet any of the exceptions listed in that criterion. In other words, no one is going to misspell "AllenHAcNguyen" as "Lt. Allen".

- Hi, thanks for leaving a new message on my talk page. The other user pages I created was marked for deletion by you because it was unused for multiple criterias. They know me as "Allen" only. --Allen talk 00:04, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on File:Twilight sparkle approved by ambris-d4c255h.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously.
—LucasThoms 04:26, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for reminding me a message on my talk page. I uploaded an image that is not an actual copyright infringement, but it's just what I want on my talk page is I love that pony picture. Hopefully, it's not supposed to be deleted. --Allen talk 04:32, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Actually, the picture you uploaded is an actual copyright infringement. It's going to be deleted, because the author didn't release it under a license that allows you to re-use it. The author's page specifically says that s/he retains all the rights (including copyright) to the picture. Also, please don't change the meaning of my comment by deleting parts of it.—LucasThoms 04:35, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Assuming the {{R}} template on Wikia is different than the Wikipedia template. So I tried but the image can't be viewed. --Allen talk 04:39, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Using it for testing a template doesn't make copyright violation okay.—LucasThoms 04:40, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

- I tried the {{R}} template on Wikipedia (tested out on Wikia already and it works viewing the image) however this template doesn't work on Wikipedia for viewing the image from a URL site. So I need it work on Wikipedia then I'm okay with it. --Allen talk 04:45, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not concerned about the template at the moment; I'm concerned that you don't understand that this is a copyright violation, no matter what you planned to use it for.—LucasThoms 04:49, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

I used it on my user page, no matter what this concerns that image was copied from a URL. Seeing this may work for the {{R|<image url>|400px}} template on Wikipedia. What I seen is this page works well. --Allen talk 04:55, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Using it on your userpage does not mean that copyright does not apply. Any use of an image like that without permission is copyright infringement.—LucasThoms 05:04, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- That is not a copyright infringement, it just contain copyrighted content added to Wikipedia similarly on Wikia with that template. Referring Wikia template applies to Wikipedia with the {{R}} template. --Allen talk 05:09, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Adding "copyrighted content" without proper permission is copyright infringement. Again, this is Wikipedia, not Wikia, although that rule should apply there too. —LucasThoms 05:11, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

- Actually I want that template, and how can I view the image from an URL site without uploading an image to Wikipedia? Twilight Sparkle is my best pony of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and I love her also! --Allen talk 05:15, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- There is no way on Wikipedia to embed images from URLs without uploading them to Wikipedia. In other words, if a picture is not free, it doesn't belong on Wikipedia in any way.—LucasThoms 05:17, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

URL embedding images supposed to be that way to view image copied from a site, so it must be working well. --Allen talk 05:28, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

- Hi, thanks for leaving a new message on my talk page. But why are you checking my contributions that I do something else on Wikipedia? The namespace for Template:ResizeImage is what I want to embed an image on Wikipedia to view it from a URL site! --Allen talk 19:22, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't nominate it for deletion just because you created it; I nominated it because it doesn't belong here. There's no way to embed an image on Wikipedia if it's not hosted on Wikipedia/Wikimedia.—LucasThoms 19:24, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- Embedding images can be used on Wikipedia the same going template on Wikia, likely I want to view it on Wikipedia with that template for image embedding. --Allen talk 19:28, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- I hate to break it to you, but there is absolutely, positively no way to embed external images on Wikipedia. It is disabled by the MediaWiki software that it runs on, and it would be prohibited by policies even if it wasn't.—LucasThoms 19:39, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
- I know MediaWiki, it's a positive way to embed images, audios and videos on Wikipedia. --Allen talk 19:42, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
