Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first pages you edited was Draft:AllGear Digital, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that page.

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you've had a new article rejected or deleted, new article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "AllGear Digital", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. A tag has been placed on Draft:AllGear Digital, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Do you understand that only a single person should have access to and be operating this account? I see you declared a COI, what is the nature of your COI? 331dot (talk) 17:50, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 331dot,
The nature of my COI is I am an employee of AllGear Digital AllGear Digital (talk) 18:15, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you are unblocked, you will have to change the {{UserboxCOI}} template on your userpage to the {{paid}} template. Since you are employed by the company, you are considered to be a paid editor. You do not have to be paid specifically to edit Wikipedia for this rule to apply; your employment is a sufficient reason by itself. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:51, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand and will do so. AllGear Digital (talk) 19:27, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Drm310. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Belvedere Club seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Deleted draft restored

[edit]

You asked on my talk page for the deleted page Draft:AllGear Digital to be restored, so that you can "edit out the advertising and promotional sections". I have restored the draft, and you are, of course, very welcome to try to make it less promotional. However, I think it only fair to warn you that even if you do so, it seems to me highly likely that the draft will not be accepted as an article. Apart from the promotional character of the draft, the other reason for its being declined was the lack of evidence of satisfying Wikipedia's notability guideline. Not only do the references in the article fail to come anywhere remotely near to showing notability in Wikipedia's terms, but I have also tried to find more suitable sources to serve as references, and I failed to do so. In fact my searches convinced me that the company does not satisfy those guidelines, rather than that it does but the current draft article fails to show that it does. A promotional tone can be removed by editing, but no amount of editing an article (or draft article) will change the notability of the subject of that article. I know that giving you such discouraging advice is likely to seem unhelpful, but I believe that warning you that your attempt to get a Wikipedia article is unlikely to succeed is actually more likely to be helpful to you than quietly sitting back and letting you put a lot of time and work into something which is doomed to failure. It is, of course, entirely up to you whether you continue with this draft, but my advice is that doing so is unlikely to be productive. JBW (talk) 20:03, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this information and restoring the draft. OutdoorGear (talk) 21:00, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
