Congrats Alkoller You created your Teahouse profile!

[edit]

Al Koller began his professional career in 1959 as a technician working summers for the Army Ballistic Missile Agency at its Missile Firing Lab on Cape Canaveral and was transferred to NASA in 1960 as part of the Von Braun ABMA rocket team. He remained at NASA for 32 years, earning a Master’s Degree in Systems Management and a Doctorate in Management and Quantitative Methods from Florida State University. He took early retirement from NASA in 1992, joining Brevard Community College in Florida to pursue a lifelong commitment to education.

In 2000 he assumed the leadership of a national consortium of colleges, founding SpaceTEC – the National Science Foundation National Center of Excellence for Aerospace Technical Education – where he continues to serve as the Managing Director and Principal Investigator for what is now the NSF National Resource Center for Aerospace. He has taught at several universities, consults for private and public organizations, and is nationally published in the technical and management fields, as well as in international education. User page and sandbox - promotional and COI

[edit]

Al - I'm writing here in the hope of saving you a lot of effort creating pages that may not be accepted into the encyclopedia. I would suggest reading the conflict of interest guidelines at WP:COI and the article on advertising at WP:ADVERT.

I see that your sandbox has been submitted for review ..... you can edit it while you are waiting for a result. It may get past if it neutrally addresses the subject of 'aerospace technician' or 'aerospace education' or some such subject.

As it is now I think it would not be accepted. Regards, Ariconte (talk) 00:15, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While the above is still valid.... it is all a copyright issue, so that needs to be addressed before anything else. Regards, Ariconte (talk) 00:29, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Alkoller requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... the inclusion of links to web sites was an inadvertent error due to a novice editor (me) trying to provide useful information without knowing all the rules. I am in the process of remedying ALL of those infractions (there are several) and will speedily remove those and move on to another way to provide citations linked to information that I generate myself. Sincere apologies - too new to know. Thanks --Alkoller (talk) 00:46, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Try again

[edit]

"Too bad. I would like to have afforded the profession - aerospace technician - the same important access afforded other areas working in technical fields. Perhaps someone else will take up the challenge to properly document this important and emerging area of work. Alkoller (talk) 03:11, 2 March 2013 (UTC)"

Have another go --- don't copy from anywhere and use references to document it. In the previous article it was the great amount of text pasted from your website that was the problem..... not the subject. Regards, Ariconte (talk) 03:25, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't give up easily, but this one really got to me. I wasn't able to salvage the draft, even though I had reworked all areas and am pretty sure I was headed in the right direction. I'm still not sure my final edit even got put where it should have gone and didn't take the time to read all the rules before starting this project. I expected to be able to give it a start and rework it as needed from the Sandbox (which I thought was protected) or even my user page, which was deleted in its entirety. If those are the rules, so be it. That kind of action will certainly cost the system some contributions that might be worth considering.

I do appreciate your thoughtful responses and wish I'd been afforded a little more time to get the writing on track. If there is a way to recover what was there in final form - about a third of what was initially submitted and without ANY of the links that were used to eliminate the piece on "copyright violations", I'd be willing to take another shot. If not, I'll spend time in more productive pursuits, at least for now.

Thanks. 70.119.189.6 (talk) 03:37, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If you've written original content here which doesn't infringe any existing copyrights then you can request userfication in order to work on it. It may be acceptable to restore content containing a mix of copyrighted and original material to userspace, and then swiftly remove any copyrighted text, leaving the rest. -- Trevj (talk) 07:56, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:SpaceTEC-logo-with words, small.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SpaceTEC-logo-with words, small.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 09:32, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
