G'day
[edit]Sunset coast is looking good - just be careful about language - as although the article is promoting something that is in effect a tourism promotion thing - the language has to be checked - otherwise go for it! SatuSuro 04:14, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Sister Cities
[edit]I don't believe the text you cite supports your argument – it was merely a re-iteration of ASCA's broad guidelines. If anything, the webpage confirms that these sister cities are a City of Perth arrangement; sister cities are, in almost all Australian cases (Canberra being the notable exception), initiatives of local government entities. The City of Perth has no authority over the metropolitan area, and thus cannot make arrangements for it. Thanks,--cj | talk 18:38, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Photo caption
[edit]In the western australia article - for the University of WA photo - such a caption is not really any use - I dont want to take issue with this style or descriptor at any great length - but it would be better to have located on the swan river or at crawley - SatuSuro 13:30, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Then you can link either the swan river or crawley!SatuSuro 16:22, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough it's up to you - hey keep up the good work! SatuSuro 16:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Careful
[edit]When responding on the Afd - be careful to remember that many take {[WP:Civility]] and WP:Etiquette very seriously - however you might feel you are right or somebody else wrong. Also - the proposal for afd in part was because at the time it read like a tourist brochure - with language that was not encyclopediac - regardless of what is said by others in the Afd - that would have been my inital reason to support the Afd. However - the issues raised means it will probably be saved. What needs to be done then is a cleanup. In that case - remember when you create an article (in english - I have no idea what you are doing in chinese) expect for it to be changed and edited - all the time. Anyway - nothing we do on wikipedia is ours - that is very important to remember! SatuSuro 04:21, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- I am not an admin and am not responsible for anothers decisions - I simply welcomed you - and did not warn you about the sunset coast - article early on - when the afd came up I realise that the whole process of afd tends to drift in ways usually that do not follow the original intent of the afd. It always happens - regardless of the outcome - it shows you part of what happens in wikipedia - this is mild and relatively easy compared to the more difficult parts. I agree with you - a cleanup message probably would have been more appropriate! Anyways - take note of what somew of the reverts and changes that have occurred - it gives you an idea about what can happen on english wikipedia - I have no idea what happens on the chinese one! SatuSuro 07:02, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Also I am quite sure that to have criticised your article close to your starting it could have come under Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers and I did not want to do that! SatuSuro 07:35, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- I do not speak for Gnangara - if you have problem- speak with him. SatuSuro 11:05, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Response to SatuSuro talk comment
[edit]Please note that all other languages Wikipedia are based on English version Wikipedia. So, the deletion policy and criteria are same. However, nothing has happened in the Chinese version! Isn’t it related to abuse of Authority? --Alfeewusy 10:48, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Firstly I dont speak/read chinese as such I dont participate there whether it meets their requirements is for the community there to decide.
- I have not used any of my admin functions to edit the article, neither have I indicated in anyway during the discussion that I'm an admin and neither will I. I have done what every other editor of wikipedia is entitled to do when they come across an article they think doesnt comply with community policy. That is to nominate it for deletion and let the community decide I also listed it on the Australian Wikipedian Notice board(something I'm not required to do), if you think I have acted unfairly then please talk directly with me.
- I know having an article sent to AfD can be stressful I would quite happily explained my reasoning as to why I chose to send the article to AfD instead of adding cleanup tags or just deleting the article. I looked at the article and was unable to be definative that it was against Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#General_criteria #11 Blatant advertising, as such the next step down is to propose the article be deleted with my reasonings. From there the community has the opportunity to voice their opinions and a neutral admin will close the AfD making their decision based on discussion/opinions expressed. My opinion has no more bearing than that of any other editor, if I thought that an AfD had been closed and had inappropriately been given undue wait to any opinion, including mine then I would list it at Wikipedia:Deletion review. While the world outside wikipedia is currently demanding on my time, I am available if you want any help with anything on wikipedia just ask. Gnangarra 14:30, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- You don’t have to understand Chinese, this is a common sense that all languages Wikipedia's policies and criteria would be the same under the wikipedia trade mark even you don’t speak multiple languages! Otherwise, that will confuse editors who have multiple accounts in various languages wikipedia. As you know, it should have people speak multiple languages in the world! For example, I have accounts in Chinese, Japanese and English Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#General_criteria #11 Blatant advertising carefully, The Sunset Coast couldn’t fulfill any criteria that have been mentioned. The Sunset Coast is a place, destination where open to public for free! Anyone can go there without paying a cent! And please don’t misunderstand, I was just replying SatuSuro’s message; I didn’t have intention to talk to another! You don’t have to respond me. --Alfeewusy 04:52, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry to but in - Gnangarra is busy in the real world and might not be able to return a message for while - so please do not expect a speedy response to your messge SatuSuro 04:55, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Alfeewusy. The above image which you created and uploaded shows the map's orientation way off. The last time I looked, the coast ran almost perfectly north south but your map seems to imply that it runs nw-se. I know how hard it is to draw maps so I hate to be critical but that is too much of an issue to ignore. Let me know what you'd like to do about it. (ie. you could modify it or I could delete it if you'd prefer) —Moondyne 23:56, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Apologies
[edit]I only just found some refs for the sunset coast article- from the state ref library catalogue - only just put them in - sorry about delay - they are pamphlets held in Battye Library... SatuSuro 13:55, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well worth a trip to henrietta when you are starting articles - State Library of Western Australia catalogue - http://henrietta.liswa.wa.gov.au/ - could save a lot of pain later if you can find what appears to be a reasonable source - as the V and N issues in a new stub can be averted if you find what appears to be a reasonable third party source. very sorry I did not alert you to that much earlier... SatuSuro 22:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Come on - dont bite admins - youve been through an afd - just play it cool dude - keep your cool... SatuSuro 06:19, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
