Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. QEnigma (talk) 13:24, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @AlexisCdR I think we should wait until the full results released before changing NPP election results. (national list results Need to come soon) -- IDB.S (talk) 06:43, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election

[edit]

@AlexisCdR: Hello, thank you for your edit to the 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election article. Please note that I have reverted your last edit as it was not constructive.

If you review the infobox and its details carefully, you will notice the "seats before" parameter, which indicates the number of seats from the previous election—in this case, the 2020 Sri Lankan parliamentary election. The "seats won" parameter reflects the seats secured in the current election. All these information is provided without needing adjustments to the current structure and template.

I kindly request that you make edits only after thoroughly studying the information and parameters provided. This will help reduce errors and prevent additional work for other editors. QEnigma (talk) 15:18, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New biographical articles

[edit]

Hello my friend. You are creating unformed articles. In particular, without citations to reliable sources, it may not be clear how the subjects of the articles establish notability.

You do not appear familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. In particular, Wikipedia requires citations to reliable and authoritative third-party sources. Two good sets of Wikipedia guidelines that I have found really useful can be found HERE, regarding verifiability and HERE, regarding the need to maintain a neutral point of view.

The general information on new page creation found HERE and especially HERE may help you, as may the referencing for beginners tutorial. You might also want to take a quick look at Wikipedia's list of policies and guidelines. I hope this helps. Good luck. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 10:55, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stephani Fernando

[edit]

How do you know Stephani is a man? You need to provide references supporting that claim. Chanaka L (talk) 05:12, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He represents my constituency. AlexisCdR (talk) 06:35, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If Stephani is a man why did you create the page with she pronoun initially? I am afraid, I cannot take your word for it, per WP:VERIFY that's not good enough. Can you at least provide a social media profile of this person? Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy is more stringent than other policies. Chanaka L (talk) 07:23, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This article contradicts your claim. If you deliberately introduce false information then deny, you leave with no option, I will have to report you to an appropriate noticeboard. Chanaka L (talk) 07:29, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the links. That checks out. I apologize if my words were harsh. Cheers! Chanaka L (talk) 08:05, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all! No offense taken. I appreciate your message. Cheers to keeping things smooth and understanding! AlexisCdR (talk) 08:18, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New articles

[edit]

Please refrain from creating new articles if you only intend to create one line stubs which ignore Wikipedia policies and guidelines such providing sources and categories. Don't create messes that others have to clean up. Obi2canibe (talk) 13:35, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Leader of the Opposition (Sri Lanka), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dissanayake cabinet. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
