Helpme

[edit]

Is it possible to illustrate an article with images that are not uploaded on wikipedia? If yes, is there an article that this happens? --Alexignatiou 11:15, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, all images must be uploaded to Wikipedia (or the Commons). Wikipedia:Images has some info on this.--Commander Keane 11:17, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and something else.. What about images that have been uploaded on other wikipedias? --Alexignatiou 11:20, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images uploaded to individual Wikipedias can't be used on other Wikipedias. However, if an image is uploaded to the Commons (it will say on the image description page) then it can be used in any Wikipedia, using the exact same file name.--Commander Keane 11:26, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

I just want to inform you that you should check out Despina Vandi's wikipedia. I suspect the record sales are wrong there too. It states a CD 3x plainum with sales of 200,000. How is that possible when Platinum certification in Greece would suggest it to be lower? Please check it out. unfortuanally I cant do much about it since I do not have a user account. 68.45.82.68 18:00, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. Did you look into it yet? 68.45.82.68 18:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just now, sales are definately wrong, because the platinums do not agree with them. I'll change them as soon as possible, but why don't you create an account? --Alexignatiou 19:52, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with me changing them, is that I am quite active with Anna Vissi, and Elena Paparizou pages. And if I start making changes to the Despina Vandi page, they click on my name and see I am active in those topics. As you may already know, Vandi and Vissi fans dont get along so well. You do not know how many times Vandi fans have vandalized Vissi's page and also Paparizou's recently.  :( I do not know where all this hatred comes from. Also try reading some of the Vandi article. SOME of it seems alittle opiniotive. 68.45.82.68

Hi. I hate to bother you again. But the same thing is happeneing with the record sales on the Vandi page. I would change it if I could. If you could that would be great. Perhaps putting in a note before the discography not to inclue sale numbers would be a good idea? 68.37.213.40 08:16, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greek and Cypriot media coverage

[edit]

Hello Alexignatiou,

I am writing a thesis on Croatia's candidacy to join the EU as seen by the various European media. As I see that you are a native Greek speaker who is interested in a variaty of subjects I was wondering if you would consider helping me. Needless to say, I don't speak Greek. However, I think it would be a shame if my thesis were to reflect only the views and topics covered in the countries such as Austria, Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands etc (in short, the countries whose languages I understand). Therefore, I would like to include a section on Greek and Cypriot media in my thesis. I am not only interested in Croatia's candidacy, but also in the wider subjects people associate with the EU. I left a more detailed list on my discussion page.

I will be more than grateful if you could leave me just a link to a Greek or Cypriot newspaper article that deals with any of the above subjects with a short summary such as for example: "XY is opposed to Turkey's membership because of the unresolved Cyprus issue" or "the membership of Croatia is bad because the constitutional treaty has been rejected in France and the Netherlands" or "party X is critical to Greece's membership in the eurozone because of..."

I will be sending this message to several other native Greek speakers. Also if you know a Wikipedian who could help me, please let me know. Of course, if you're not interested, please accept my apologies. Thank you for your time. PGradStudent 10:41, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
