Rucka Rucka Ali
Alright, well I have a question about a deleted article that I would like to create.
Heres the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rucka_Rucka_Ali&action=edit&redlink=1
Sorry, forgot how to add the red links :p, don't worry I'll go figure that out in a sec. But I would like a chance to create the Rucka Rucka Ali article, can you unblock it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arilegolego (talk • contribs) 02:11, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Um hello, I'm here to ask about making a blocked article, Rucka Rucka Ali. It is blocked, due to n00bs making bad articles on it. Is there any way that I can make it? Such as you undoing the block?
Arilegolego (talk) 02:16, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- No can do. You should ask the blocking admin Snowolf. If you cannot get an answer there after a day or two, then you may try RFUP. If the subject is notable, then you may write an article. Asking many admins open this for you is not proper etiquette. Also please always add new entries in Talk pages at the bottom. -- Alexf(talk) 03:04, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
I ask you to reconsider the block on this account. I think it may have been created in good faith after an username warning was left on the original account's talk page. One of the solutions mentioned in that particular template, {{uw-coi-username}}, is to create an account that applies only to an individual. I see the creation of the second account as an attempt to comply with the username policy. Of course, that still doesn't exempt them from COI concerns, but I don't think that rises to the level of an indef block. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 22:18, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- You may be right. The way I read it is a user that was spamming under a corporate name, so he changes to a sock to spam again on the same article. I'll AGF and remove the block on your analysis. -- Alexf(talk) 22:21, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. FWIW, I had considered adding a sock template myself and decided against based on the above reasoning. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 23:12, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Request for copies of deleted article
Could you please provide me with the previous deleted copies of XMPlay? I believe this is a notable subject and I intend to restore the article in an acceptable form. Thanks. --skylights (talk)
- The article was very short with only one paragraph: "XMPlay is an audio player, supporting a multitude of audio formats and different types of playlists. A load more formats are also supported via plugins. XMPlay was first released in 1998." -- Alexf(talk) 01:29, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- The article was deleted a total of three times. Can you access the earlier copies? Also, may I have a copy of the deleted article 1by1? --skylights (talk) 02:14, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. I userfied the whole lot with more info for you at User:Skylights76\XMPlay. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 10:12, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, you deleted the Giraffe Heroes Project page and I understand why-- I am now working on the page in a sandbox until I can prove notability-- but could you please remove the notes on the page about it being deleted and copyright infringement and everything? It just looks really bad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giraffe_Heroes_Project Thanks so much! -Kathleen Knewbould (talk) 18:54, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Vandalism
Hi Alex! In February you placed a six month Anon editing block on 194.83.84.16 for persistent vandalism. The block has just cleared and vandalism has instantly started. Could you possibly place another block and extend it to 12 months which will hopefully see the current user(s) move on to other things? Richard Harvey (talk) 22:03, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Not just yet. Only one incidence of vandalism. Needs a new level 3 or 4 warning, then they get a 12 months block as customary. Any admin will do the same, just report them to AIV when you see it. At the moment can't be done as it is just one kid, and most likely not the same one from before. They need to be warned. -- Alexf(talk) 22:39, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
I was actually going to decline that A7 myself, there were two books there referenced in there, along with more stuff on Google Scholar. I was also in the process of wikifying and cleaning that one up a little bit. Do you mind if you restore that one? Regards, –MuZemike 00:49, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. Go ahead. -- Alexf(talk) 00:59, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Page Restoration
Hi Alexf,
I came to look at my Wikipedia profile page and found it was deleted. the page is User:NathanJeffery.
I wondered if it would be possible for you to please restore the page. I do apologise if the page comes across as spammy, my intention was to gradually build it up until the point where it will be a semi thorough description/reference of me, my background, family etc.
I put the content on my profile page and not on a standard Wiki Article as I was concerned that creating an article all about myself might be against policy. Hopefully I can make an impact on enough peoples lives to be remembered in a Wiki Article and have others write about me, but for now, I would very much appreciate if my page could be restored.
If you have any critique or additional points, that I could implement, in the existing profile page, to make it more acceptable, I would gladly oblige.
Looking forward to hearing/reading from you.
Kind Regards

Cornell United Religious Work
Hey Alex,
This message concerns the deletion of Cornell United Religious Work, which was deleted for notability. Cornell United Religious Work is notable, since it is the umbrella organization for all religious organizations at Cornell University. It is a major organization on campus that has existed since 1929 and it is an important part of campus life at Cornell. Other organizations at Cornell have pages, such as the Big Red Marching Band and the Cornell University Glee Club. Just about every publication, major or minor, has a page. Even particular geographic quadrants, such as North Campus and West Campus, have pages.
I think the best route would be to restore the page and list it as a stub. I, and others, will try to flesh out the page with more information as I and others get the time. The website for Cornell United Religious Work is here: http://www.curw.cornell.edu/
Thanks! Hope all's well!
- Newman3535 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Newman3535 (talk • contribs) 12:03, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- The article had no references whatsoever. There are many religious organizations. So what? Being religious does not make an organization worthy of an encyclopedia entry. You'll have to do better than that. Next, the article read like an ad, including phone number and hours of operation, so it was deletable for that reason too. -- Alexf(talk) 12:07, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
Julien Ball is an actor with 30 years experience in the business, he has worked with the National Theatre in London and with the RSC as well as numerous apperances on televison. Actos who he has worked with and at a similar stage of their careers are on wikipedia. There is no copyright violation, the deletion was made from wikipedia in the first place because the entry was incomplete. Please reinstate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.7.91.64 (talk) 18:00, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of "Candid marketing"
Dear Alexf,
I have written an article for "candid marketing" which went into speedy deletion. No issues!, I wish to write this article again, strictly conforming to wikipedia policies and your guidance. As i am new to wikipedia, i sometimes get lost with the policies (there are many intricacies attached to it) It would be great if i can get hold of the content. I had taken pains to create it. I wish to improvise this article based on your feedback. Have also read the G11 blatant advertising policies (am no any stakeholder of this organisation and my intention was not advertising, however, i shall tone down this article in future). Also, would require your guidance on the same and the way forward. Thank you so much. Looking forward for your reply on the same. Knowourba (talk) 11:08, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Userfied per request. Please read Your First Article, the Five Pillars of Wikipedia and the Business FAQ which will be of help understanding what we are all about. -- Alexf(talk) 11:59, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Comment: There are 5 links given each pointing to reliable and credible sources like Business Wire, Economic Times and Business Standard (one of the largest national dailies in the country). I have given the reference for "Candid Marketing" on context. I have read the policies under WP:VRS, WP:PRIMARY. I think it satisfies all the wiki criteria for it to be considered as a credible source. Just to give an idea of the credibility of the sources - Indian Express has a readership of about 1.8 million Indian people across the country. Request you to review the same. Deletion of Iceberg Interactive
Hi Alex,
I see you have deleted the wikipedia page 'Iceberg Interactive'
Can you please assist me in what i can and cannot post so the page will stay online ?
Thanks in advance,
Lex —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lex suurland (talk • contribs) 12:12, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- First of all, it would be nice if you provided a redlink to it: Iceberg Interactive, as requested at the top of the edit page here. It helps a lot in finding deleted articles out of the thousands in the list. The article was pure advertising, showing the whole list of the company's products but nothing to show why the article belongs in Wikipedia. It had no reliable sources and was full of references to its own website, which does nothing but self-advertise. To assist you as you ask, I think the best you can do is become acquainted with Wikipedia's policies. The best is to read Your First Article, the Five Pillars of Wikipedia and the Business FAQ which will be of help understanding what we are all about. Also, please remember to sign your posts in talk pages. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 13:21, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Page review - Reasons and Appeal for undeletion
Dear sir,
I am requesting that the following page be undeleted: Plunkett Research, Ltd.
1. I am new to Wikipedia and realize now that I should have saved this in my private user draft and made the edits accordingly. I did not realize that it would be deleted so quickly without the ability to make edits. This is obviously my fault and I have learned my lesson. This also includes the issue of copyright infringement. Although I have been given permission to use the content that was "copyrighted", the content is actually available for public use as it is distributed among various libraries, vendors and universities as background information on the company.
2. Plunkett Research itself is an industry and market research company that prints almanacs and is used as a reference in a number of Wikipedia articles. For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Corporation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willis_Group_Holdings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penske_Automotive_Group http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PNC_Park http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanger_Prosthetics_and_Orthotics
Also, Plunkett Research is referenced in a number of news articles as well: http://media.www.theduquesneduke.com/media/storage/paper1278/news/2010/09/16/Sports/The-Duke.Debates.part.1-3932035.shtml http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/6557007.cms http://web.vivavip.com/forum/LiveWire/read.php?i=29668&start=0 http://www.successmagazine.com/business-to-consider-consulting-/PARAMS/article/1089/channel/22 http://www.forbes.com/2010/05/06/mid-sized-companies-hiring-most-leadership-careers-indeed.html?boxes=leadershipchannellatest
I am able to provide more examples if need be.
3. The CEO, Jack W. Plunkett is also a very notable analyst (and I also created a page for him that has yet to be deleted - Please don't delete it now that I told you about it). I think the key difference here is that I had already learned my lesson and was sure to include references and external links concerning him and reinforcing the content.
4. My Haiku - try not to make fun of me: Dear Kind Wiki Dude I know I made some mistakes forgive me, undelete
:) - not bad eh?
I am more than willing to discuss this further with you and provide any additional information or resources you may need. I appreciate your time and dedication to Wikipedia. Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

ReCorpiCon
Hey, I'm entirely new to wikipedia. I've known about it for years, but never looked at it, though I have been in computers for 50 years. I had seen this word many times (at least one reference is a google search for the word that turns up some 7 pages or so references to it.)
It was my intent to write it in an encyclopedic fashion so others who were curious about the word would have a place to read about it or it's origin in an established "encyclopedia" like setting like Wikipedia. At this point, I don't even have a clue as to where the page is or the text is to go back to fix it or improve it to make it meet the wikipedia standards.
Anyway, that is where it is. I think that I understand your issues and had hoped that there would be no issues of that kind. At this point, I don't quite know what to do - so much stuff has been thrown at it or the article it is hard to know where to start or end.
Would you take a moment to give me a clue as to what could be done to fix it or where to go to fix it? Somewhat puzzled by this process at this point.

Dead End Alliance
Hello,
I went through all the steps so that the article wouldn't be deleted, but it was still deleted. Dead End Alliance's is notable because it is the group of DJ Screw and DJ Screw is the most popular hip-hop DJ of our time. Is there something specific that you were looking for in the article? I was in the process of adding more to the page and it was deleted anyway so what can I do now?
Elitefirm (talk) 17:25, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- If you want an admin to help you, for starters you should read the instructions clearly expalined at the top of the edit page. Especially:
- 1. If you want to ask me about a page I deleted, please leave a red link to it. That will make it easier for me to find it and answer you.
- 4. Please follow procedure and always start a new section for a new message. There is no sense in tagging along an unrelated message, where the subject would be lost in the clutter and might not even be seen.
- "I went through all the steps so that the article wouldn't be deleted".
- I don't see where as there was no sourcing whatsoever. The artcile was deleted because it did not comply with the notability requirements.
- "Dead End Alliance's is notable because it is the group of DJ Screw".
- That's your say so, not enough for an encyclopedia.
- "DJ Screw is the most popular hip-hop DJ of our time".
- That's high praise. Unfortunately against Wikipedia's rules.
- "Is there something specific that you were looking for in the article?"
- Yes, assertion of notability.
- "what can I do now?"
- You can read the links in this note and it might be of help to also read The Five Pillars and Your First Article. if after that, you still think the subject is worthy of inclusion and follows the rules, by all means write an article, but be prepared for scrutiny. -- Alexf(talk) 17:49, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Ok Alexf. Everything that you scrutinized above is what I WROTE to YOU, not in the article. That was a plea to you to not delete my article. Hip-hop is not your genre of choice, obviously but you don't have to be so biased and rude. I was working on the article, it's brand new and I can prove the importance of the group simply because DJ Screw is a famous DJ and it's a group he created. There are tons of articles on DJ Screw and his group DEA. Which one would you like to see, so that I can get my page back? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elitefirm (talk • contribs) 18:02, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Also I went to the link you posted and it reads: Important note: Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elitefirm (talk • contribs) 18:05, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- It is not a question of expertise on the subject but of Wikipedia policy. The plea not to delete the article has to be done under policy by placing a {{hangon}} tag in it and immediately explaining your reasons on why it complies with policy. This was not done. I re-looked at the article and it did not have sources and did not comply. Again, everything you say may be true but without proper sourcing it doesn't work in Wikipedia. If you want I could userfy it for you as a starting point. As for sounding rude, it was not and if it came that way, I am sorry. It was not meant to be. Please understand that you need to ask politely and follow requirements, especially when they are spelled out in bold letters at the tp of the page. Ignoring this request does not endear you to overworked admins. Consider that with over 21600 deletions (see stats in user page), it is hard to know what you are talking about without a little help from you. After several hundred deletions per day, I forget the article the moment I go to the next. Therefore the request for redlinks that myself - and all other admins - do.
- On your quote, you should have quoted the full paragraph:
- Important note: Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion. However, an article on an artist or band that does not indicate that the subject of the article is important or significant can be speedily deleted under criterion A7. A mere claim of significance, even if contested, may avoid speedy deletion under A7, requiring a full proposed deletion or Article for Deletion process to determine if the article should be included in Wikipedia. If you prefer PROD or AfD instead, it can be done. My advise: avoid the technicalities of the process and just provide reliable sources to make it comply with policy. -- Alexf(talk) 18:18, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Richarddanielbernstein - xuk
Hi Andy, I got the 'deletion' info after it had been deleted so was unable to put the hangon code on. This is not self advertising as you could only reach the page if you specifically put in XUK because you wanted to know what it was. There is no way you'd reach the page. It is similar, if not the same as a biography of any one person. You get there if you want to know more about them. I'd appreciate if you could put it backon or send me the text and advise of any one thing that would make it less sensitive to be deleted? Thanks, Richard —Preceding unsigned comment added by Richarddanielbernstein (talk • contribs) 13:59, 23 September 2010 (UTC) --Richarddanielbernstein (talk) 18:56, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- Xuk was speedy deleted, as you know, because it read like an advertisement. If not, it would most certainly have been tagged for speedy deletion as A7 as notability was not asserted. In order to understand the basic rules I would advise you read The Five Pillars of Wikipedia and Your First Article which may be of help. Also, you have a major conflict of interest with this article which is a problem. BTW, I'm Alex, not Andy, (who is the editor that tagged the article, not me). Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 19:18, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

I am trying to add PNG to disambiguate it from Papau New Guinea, the company has recently reported to the press that it gets over 20 inquiries a week regarding that country's freight. "Barrie Jarrett" (A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject)
Hi Alexf,
Seems you deleted the page before it was finished. The comments left were saying that the article had no significance.
Barrie Jarrett is the founder of TEAMtalk media - A media company stretching back to the start of the Internet and intoducing the first ever UK Rugby, Football, Cricket and multiple sports websites.
Happy to provide more relevance and references if need be?

Hi
I'm writing to request that the page created for Barrie Jarrett[[1]] be reinstated.
It contains information on Barrie Jarrett, who is the founder of international media company TEAMtalk Media.
He is named as the founder on the already existing page for football365.co.za[[2]], which is owned by the company.
Here are some references to other online articles he has been mentioned in:
http://www.playthegame.org/news/detailed/south-african-economy-feels-2010-pressure-4678.html
http://www.mediaupdate.co.za/?idstory=21445
TEAMtalk itself is mentioned a number of occasions on Wikipedia, so please consider my request with this in mind.
Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.213.219.26 (talk) 09:33, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure any of them is relevant to show notability. Even then, the article reads like an ad for TEAMtalk and should I undelete it would be immediately tagged for speedy deletion again and most certainly removed for one of these two reasons. I'd be willing to userfy it if somebody provided an account with a proper signature (the two users who wrote here have not properly signed). -- Alexf(talk) 12:06, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion - Paul Castran
Hi Alex,
I noticed that you deleted the page "Paul Castran" that I created, here is the link location.
I'd like to understand what content that you require for this page to remain? I modelled the page off another CEO's page that I found on wikipedia and believed that there was near identical content. I can add additional information around the company, their history, however Paul is face of said company and a leader in the industry in Melbourne, so I believe that his page is relevant.
Look forward to hearing from you
Dave
Davidrobb (talk) 05:21, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- Being a successful CEO is not enough notability for inclusion in an encyclopedia. The article had a link to the company's staff roster, and a couple of links about his brother and his wife. The consensus for inclusion require asserting notability and showing reliable sources. -- Alexf(talk) 10:26, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Entrenamiento en suspensión
Hello, after reading all your post, I don´t the reason why you delete "entrenamiento en suspensión"
Let me be clear, you can find "suspension training" in english wich have content that, indeed explain the same I put in spanish, but in the other hand, that definition (suspension training) is not deleted.
I totally agree wikipedia is not an advertising website, so, if both pages have the same content, just one in english and the other in spanish both should have the same luck, both deleted or both working. Please check the english site, I am sure you will understand my point, beside the article I´ve wrote has no references in spanish, so If you spoke that lenguage, your only resource is to use a translator for your website in english. I am sure the comunity will appreciate my work
Regards
Tnx for you time

- Jaime. Please remember to place a redlink like this: Entrenamiento en suspensión for deleted pages, and to start a new section in Talk pages and sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) as requested. The article you wrote was not in English, had no reliable sources to assert notability. Furthermore, it looked like an ad for the equipment's manufacturer. The Spanish Wikipedia has their own rules, so and article that is accepted there may not necesarily be accepted here (although I doubt this one, in the state it was here should be acceptable there). Looking further, it duplicates an existing article (which I guess is the one you refer to) at Suspension training. That one is properly sourced. As for reading the language, if you check my User page you'll see I have no problem with it (:-), although I post in English here and in Spanish in es.wp as it is the norm. Have a good day. -- Alexf(talk)
