Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is absolutely 100 percent unambiguously promotional, most likely due to my Conflict of Interest. It was intended as a mock-up for a requested article, not as an actual submission, which is why I created a userpage as opposed to a root page. If it has to be deleted, that's fine, but I would like the opportunity to try to revise it to get it to the point of at least being a springboard for a third party without COI to work on. Thanks.

Actually, "GigMasters helps party planners find and hire entertainment for events ranging from weddings to corporate events to barbecues, and assists musicians, variety performers, and vendors in receiving leads and securing bookings" is considered promotional.Jasper Deng (talk) 04:21, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's totally fair. I guess I'm not really getting the idea of creating a mock page for the requested article section. In no way shape or form am I intending this to be a submission, rather just an attempt at fitting the Wikipedia format in order to assist someone who might come across said article request. Am I going about this completely wrong? I'm pretty much brand new to this. Alexdancho (talk) 04:23, 1 September 2011 (UTC)alexdancho[reply]
(edit conflict) After you remove the promotional text, the next step is to make sure that your company actually meets our notability guideline (I know it's tough; this is usually the biggest reason why some things can't have articles on Wikipedia). Requested articles, as for as I know, is not monitored much.Jasper Deng (talk) 04:21, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay. It's what was recommended in FAQ/Organizations, so that's why I put it there. You can feel free to delete, I have a copy stored locally, and in the event that we do meet notability guidelines, I'll remove the promotional text, try to be as third party as possible, and resubmit. Is that the best course of action? Alexdancho (talk) 04:27, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Have third parties involve in this, as you said before. But notability is something we first have to establish.Jasper Deng (talk) 04:57, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
