Your note on my Talk page about Ignacio Solano
[edit]Hi there Alejandro, and thanks for your note. I don't think there is an issue with notability, but my original comment was about references. Different Wikipedias have different approaches, but on the Engish speaking version there's a strong emphasis on supporting material with external and neutral references that can be verified (so organisation's own website wouldn't count). Ideally references should be inline citations (you'll see these on most other pages on the English Wikipedia). There are a couple of pages which explain these guidelines and it would be a good idea to check those out. For verifiable references see WP:V, and for how to cite references see WP:CITE. Hope that helps. Libby norman (talk) 08:25, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
Clarification of query on Ignacio Solano
[edit]Hi again Alejandro Sorry you don't understand what I'm getting at. Regarding your message: 'How can you verify "external and neutral references that can be verified" something that is already there? This is not a theory, is something that really exists. How can you verify something that already exists, is phisical and you can touch it? Sorry, i dont understand such and ambigue term.'
What I meant was that each statement in an article has to have a reference to support it and I would suggest you read WP:V if you haven't already done that as it explains why this guideline exists on English Wikipedia and what it means for writers and editors. In a nutshell, it means that Wikipedia is compiled based on published source material (not original research or an editor's personal knowledge). So any article on Wikipedia has to be supported by reliable evidence that comes from, for instance, a newspaper, magazine or other media source, an academic paper or book. The reason that an organisation's own website is not considered particularly trustworthy is because organisations make all kinds of claims about themselves and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or PR.
If you look at pages on pretty much any subject – for instance Patrick Blanc – you will see they have a list of References at the end. Note that the Patrick Blanc article has been picked up by an editor as lacking enough sources. An article without such issues, eg Eden Project, also contains substantial references (17 in all), even though we all know that it exists and we can go and visit it.
Therefore, even if you personally know that something happened or exists, Wikipedia articles have to have references that support the statements and claims. Ideally the reference should go at the end of the sentence (see WP:CITE), so that people can then check the original source.
I do hope that I've made this clearer, but let me know if you are still confused. You can get help from the editors at the Teahouse if you want guidance on compiling and listing references – I'm also happy to help if I can. Many thanks. Libby norman (talk) 13:23, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Request for re-review of article on Ignacio Solano
[edit]Hi Alejandro and thanks for your further note. I don't re-review articles as I think it is better to have another editor review with a fresh eye. I have looked briefly at the article and, while you have improved it, it still looks to me rather light on good reference sources. It may help to have input from another editor on this and you could also ask advice from Wikipedia Teahouse (see note from them above). Thanks again for your note.
