User history script
Do you know if the user history script prevents WP:Popups from working? That seems to be the case for me on user contribution pages. CTJF83 chat 03:58, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- Popups will only not-work when you are viewing a resricted history - that is, when you have isoloated a user. This is because userhist generates the list dynamically, and pop-ups has no way of attaching itself to the links. Ale_Jrbtalk 14:08, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. CTJF83 chat 18:35, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Possible Igloo issue
Recently, a "revert conflict" occured between User:Wine Guy, using Igloo, and me, using old school, manual "undo". I undid vandalism, and Igloo, presumably going for the edit I was undoing, reverted my edit, and subsequently, I was warned. Is this a potential issue? Brambleclawx 01:00, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- This was probably my fault, I may have hit the revert button at the same moment the diff went green from Brambleclawx's undo. I haven't seen any other similar issues. Wine Guy~Talk 01:28, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Igloo (3/6/10)
Hi, I've already got rollback and currently use WP:AVT and Twinkle. Since I'm usually on a pre-Intel Mac, Huggle is not an option so I'd be interested in giving igloo a try. Thanks. Wine Guy~Talk 09:45, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Done. Ale_Jrbtalk 10:58, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll be sure to provide some feedback once I've used it a bit. Cheers. Wine Guy~Talk 17:22, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
Two attempts so far, both times:
- Attempting to connect to the server, requesting token...
- Warning: igloo could not connect to the remote server. Loading stopped.
I'll try again later tonight. Wine Guy~Talk 23:57, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Works for me. Ale_Jrbtalk 11:28, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
I've gotten connected a couple times now (it took several attempts though), and igloo is fantastic - many thanks. Only issues so far: igloonet frequently kicked me off (verification failed), although each time I was able to get back on immediately by clicking "retry", I'm fairly certain that my connection is not the problem here; at least a third of the diffs I looked at were bot edits, particularly User:DASHBot and User:RjwilmsiBot, it would be much more efficient if approved bots such as these were whitelisted; user-warning options would be very useful (but I think I read somewhere that you're already aware/working on this, if so, I don't mean to nag).
Overall, an excellent system to use so far. Thanks again! Wine Guy~Talk 22:41, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- If a request to the server times out, igloo will stop running. It never kicks me though (and the server doesn't run on my computer, so it's not local) so I don't know what to suggest. Most bots and admins are flagged as clean; some won't be. The list is regularly expanded though, it currently stands at around 11,500 users. Ale_Jrbtalk 18:16, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
igloo
What does it do? (I used to have VandalProof.)
I already have TWINKLE. Can I do both?
Does it have any bugs that would interfere with the Admin tools?
Will it help me spot and stop vandals more quickely?
How do I sign up?
Cheers, Dlohcierekim 06:42, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- It is similar to tools like VandalProof and Huggle. It works fine with TW. It doesn't interfere with any admin tools as far as I'm aware (at least, it works fine for all the admins who've used it so far). I like to think that it makes spotting vandals faster, yes. To sign up, let me know you're interested. Ale_Jrbtalk 18:17, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
igloo
Hi there! I'd definitely be interested on testing igloo. Aremith tlk | eml 02:20, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

I have found a bug: the forward button does not work (I can browse back but not forwards when it is green. I have Google Chrome 5.0.307.11 on Mac OSX 10.6.2. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 23:59, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, this is fixed. Ale_Jrbtalk 18:22, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
igloo
Hi, I'm really enjoying igloo at the moment, but I have some questions. Is there a whitelist (Users that are known to produce quality edits)? If so, could certain bots be added to the list? I am getting a lot of edits from bots which slow me down slightly. Not by much, so it's not a huge issue. Also, I was wondering if, in a future version, there would be a choice of namespace filtering. I'd prefer to see only the main namespace, but the current version seems to have all namespaces. Thanks! Aremith tlk | eml 14:48, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- There is - edits by these users appear in green (the greener, the more trusted) at the bottom of the edit list. I have a bot that adds trusted users to the whitelist periodically, but I haven't run it in a while, so some bots might not be on it yet. I'll look into it. Any ones in particular? The filtering system will indeed allow you to filter by namespace, as well as many other things - you can see details of planned features at User:Ale_jrb/Scripts/igloo/dev - though I'm quite busy at the moment, and working on another project, so it might be a while. Ale_Jrbtalk 22:50, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'll get the names of some of the bots I see when I do my next run and then give that to you. Other than those two things, and what you already have in the planned features, it looks really good! Thanks for the development! Aremith tlk | eml 06:15, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
User:EdwardsBot is one not on the list. It was delivering Signposts this afternoon. Also, for the future, would it be possible to send welcome messages to users? I find the urge to when I see constructive IPs. Airplaneman talk 05:02, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll add that one. In its current form, you should only be using igloo to revert blatant vandalism, and the vandalism-1 warning is sufficiently friendly for that purpose, with regard to new users. In the future, you should be able to add lots of messages; we'll see. Ale_Jrbtalk 08:03, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Sounds good! I'll make sure to report any bots I see that aren't whitelisted. Another possibility is to import Huggle's whitelist. Airplaneman talk 22:48, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
- This is working well so far. I've reverted hundreds of vandals already! Just one thing; I'm stopping usage right now because Google Chrome is reporting that the host site has malware. Although there may be false positives, I'm not taking the chance. I know it's recent because it was working fine yesterday. I'll try again tomorrow, Airplaneman talk 23:57, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- It works now. Airplaneman talk 19:05, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello again. If it's not possible to import from HG (I know you're busy, sorry for bugging), I'll create a list of trusted users that need to be whitelisted so they have the green highlight on their edits:
- User:RjwilmsiBot
- User:Fastilysock
- User:PrincessofLlyr
- User:Brambleclawx
- User:NerdyScienceDude
- User:CmdrObot
- User:Dlohcierekim
Is there a whitelist of some sort that I can add the users to? Thanks, Airplaneman talk 22:44, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'll look into it. Ale_Jrbtalk 22:57, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Just a note: I've got the same problem as Wine Guy (below): "Warning: igloo could not connect to the remote server. Loading stopped." I'll try again later. Regards, Airplaneman talk 18:32, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- Server's down at the moment. Will probably be fixed by the host at some point soon. Ale_Jrbtalk 19:51, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- Would it be safe to add all bots and rollbackers to the whitelist? (or is it already like so?) Airplaneman talk 02:34, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- It would be safe, but would require writing a tool that parses the list, retrieves the required data about the users, and adds them to the database. This may get done at some point, but at the moment, development of the tool itself is more of a priority. Ale_Jrbtalk 15:15, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

igloo logo and userbox
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I created and uploaded an SVG based on the logo in the igloo GUI (pictured right). I'll also make a userbox for igloo users since I haven't found one anywhere. I hope these will be useful, let me know if there's a problem with any of this. Wine Guy~Talk 21:21, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Userbox at {{User:Wine Guy/iglooUBX}}. Wine Guy~Talk 09:20, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
- Nice one, cheers. Ale_Jrbtalk 23:15, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Glad you like 'em. I've only just started attempting to use Inkscape, so I've just been experimenting with this. I'm having transparency issues with the new SVG version(resolved), so I made a couple new PNG versions as well. Feel free (of course) to use anything you like. Anyone using igloo as well should feel free to use the above userbox. Wine Guy~Talk 00:38, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

- The igloo whitelist is people who are approved to use the alpha version of igloo. That is all. I'll add you at some point in the near future. Ale_Jrbtalk 18:21, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
IGLOO-minor issue
I'm not an IGLOO user, but when IGLOO warns a user for vandalism, the edit summary is missing a bracket (this was copied out of recent changes, the missing bracket is red):
(diff) (hist) . . User talk:88.105.11.47; 13:18 . . (+545) . . Ale jrb (talk | contribs) (Level 2 warning re. vandalism on Vain (IG))

- It doesn't appear like that in the page history. Which recent changes feed were you looking at? Ale_Jrbtalk 17:34, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- 11:18, March 15, 2010 Ale jrb (talk | contribs) (2,241 bytes) (Level 2 warning re. vandalism on Vain (IG) (rollback | undo)
- There's only one parenthesis on the end. There should be another parenthesis on the end. The parenthesis here closes the edit summary. NERDYSCIENCEDUDE (✉ msg • changes) 17:38, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I know that, and it's been fixed in my dev (but not live) version for ages. However, you can have an edit summary of 'this is some stuff (omgopenbracket' if you want, and that doesn't affect where the (red)link is. Ale_Jrbtalk 17:39, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- Oops, I just realised that I misread the whole thing. As above, it's been fixed for some time in the dev version. Thanks. Ale_Jrbtalk 17:40, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

I contribute using the monobook skin (sometimes use the black background and the green text too) and Mozilla Firefox (3.6). I'm interested to give it a try under my other account: Minimac's Clone, which is an account used only for reverting vandalism. Minimac (talk) 07:25, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
db-banned
Please read the description of CSD-G5 ("Pages created by banned or blocked users in violation of their ban or block having no substantial edits by others. "), and this discussion. CSD-G5 (aka "db-banned") applies to all articles created by block-evading accounts.—Kww(talk) 19:58, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- I had a quick read - I saw a lot of discussion and some suggestions, no real consensus, then you changed it anyway and it fizzled out. I actually disagree with the change to the policy - a block and a ban are in no way the same - and had the discussion been advertised more widely, I possibly would have commented. However, I can't be bothered right now, and will revert my decline. Cheers, Ale_Jrbtalk 20:10, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Ale jrb. I had a question pertaining to the above topic (which you voted on :D). As it has a considerable amount of support, and opposes mostly follow the "not needed" track, how is it implemented? Thanks, —Airplaneman ✈— 22:19, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

- It connects via HTTP. I was having problems with the server - two copies of my cPanel were running and I'd adjusted the whitelist on the wrong one (:. Xeno, if you now try from home, it should work. If it loses the connection, that's possibly because it's a little temperamental. It is, however, working fine for me (and the server isn't local). I would recommend working on Igloo for vector
According to the Wikipedia Signpost, the Vector skin will become default in April. Because of that, I would recommend working on skin compatibility with Vector. NERDYSCIENCEDUDE (✉ message • changes) 19:54, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't like vector. I don't like the layout, which is annoying, I don't like the appearance, which is ugly, and I don't like the interface, which is clunky. To be honest, I don't really care if it is made the default; I will switch right back. I try and make my scripts compatible for others, but at the moment, I'm still developing it and couldn't care less if people using vector can't use itb (no offence to them, just to their skin choice). Cheers, Ale_Jrbtalk 20:06, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not even sure how the skin has any relevance to the script? It's got its own interface. </confused face> –xenotalk 20:08, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I would have to agree with Xeno on this one. Since it has its own interface, it shouldn't be skin dependent. NERDYSCIENCEDUDE (✉ message • changes) 20:12, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's because of conflicts in the skin CSS. I (lazily) rely on some of the CSS rules that monobook defines, and only redefine those elements I want to change. In order for its interface to be skin independant, I would have to aggressively define everything in the interface including, for example, text size in every text output, and I really can't be bothered at the moment, because I'm working on the block and settings systems.
