A tag has been placed on Draft:INRAE, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Regarding INRAE

[edit]

You declared a Conflict of Interest. If this was a simple translation then you would have done so word for word. May I suggest you follow the proper Wikipedia:Merging standards. Additionally, an admin has already deleted the draft, and you may be blocked from editing if you recreate the page. Thepenguin9 (talk) 16:43, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not open a discussion on my own talk page, and instead reply here by using : to indent your reply and ~~~~ to sign your comment.

Given the little content in this article I would strongly recommend you simply merge it into the better quality article. But I would like to reaffirm that with your Conflict of Interest you follow the guidelines for contributing. Thepenguin9 (talk) 17:02, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But merging the two pages would not be correct, as INRA and IRSTEA ceased to exist, and INRAE is a different institute, resulting from the merging of two others. It is important to both know that the new institute exists, and that there used to be others.
Also, the guidelines for contributing seem to indicate that I should just send the article through the AfC process, which is what I am currently doing, even if I declared a conflict of interest (which is what looks reasonable to do, as I work for INRAE). However, you seem to imply that I should absolutely not create the page of my employer; if you confirm that is the case, I will then just give up. The reason why I wanted to add this entry is that I just found it weird that the largest institute for agricultural research in Europe, which has already Wikipedia entries in French and German, had no English Wikipedia entry.

Your draft article, Draft:INRAE
