Help me about my user name on different languages
[edit]{{help me}}
I have other names in different languages. Can I change my name in these languages to the name I want (for example, change my nmae in Classical Chinese Wikipedia into "杭瑞凯")?
Albert Micah Hang (talk) 01:09, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- No, due to single unified login, which gives you one username across all Wikimedia Foundation projects. Any rename on any project changes your name on every project. The closest thing you can do is edit your signature on each project to render how you want it. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:27, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Jeremy OK, Thanks. So if I wanna change my name in Classical Chinese, I just gonna change my signature, and that's it. But I still hope that Wikipedia have this function someday. Albert Micah Hang (talk) 09:56, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- It actually did before. SUL was implemented to harmonise accounts throughout all Wikipedia projects to make things easier for those who are active on multiple projects; obviously the cost is different names on different projects, something that a signature can deal with. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:01, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
