TWL Questia check-in

[edit]

Hello!

You are receiving this message because The Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to Questia. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

  • Make sure that you can still log in to your Questia account; if you are having trouble feel free to get in touch.
  • When your account expires you can reapply for access at WP:Questia.
  • Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed.
  • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, email us and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services The Wikipedia Library can offer.

Thanks!

Welcome to WP:CUE

[edit]

Hi! I'd like to introduce myself, my name's Ed and I've been doing off and on again upgrades on our snooker (and other sports) articles. Per your userpage request, I'll take a look at the articles you mentioned; but I must say your work so far has been very good (especially for a non-native speaker). If I leave any notes for you, or rearrange things, don't be worried, it's usually to an archived discussion from WT:SNOOKER. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:10, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Lee Vilenski. Thanks for your kind words and nice to meet you. I have read many articles on the topic written by you and others, but then it is always more difficult when it comes to actually writing them... :) Thanks for taking the time to read the articles - and be sure that I will take everything you change into account for the future. Kind regards. Alavense (talk) 14:00, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2004 and 2006 WSC

[edit]

Hi! I see you've done these two articles up. I've got a task going to get all of the WSC articles up to GA Status. Would you like to go in as a co-nom if I do a bit of cleanup on these two articles? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 22:42, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Lee Vilenski. It would be an honour, of course. Feel free to trim and amend whatever you think is necessary. I will keep an eye on them to learn. In other news, I am in the process of tidying up everything snooker-related in Commons: there are now categories by year, by season, by player by year... amongst other things. Kind regards, Alavense (talk) 07:05, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh blimey, that's good work. I do a lot of work across Wikipedia as a whole, but I haven't touched much on Commons. I'll add you on the co-nom when I think they are ready. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 11:56, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let me know if there's anything I can do, Lee Vilenski. I'll be glad to help. I'll be working on other articles in the meantime. Alavense (talk) 14:37, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
2006 is pretty close now, do you mind if I put them template up for GAN with you as a co-nominator? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:38, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, Lee Vilenski. Thank you very much for your help. I'll keep an eye on the nomination to try and help whenever necessary. Kind regards, Alavense (talk) 17:59, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Len Deighton Companion moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to The Len Deighton Companion. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Broc (talk) 20:47, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination made

[edit]

Excellent work on this article, hopefully if it passes we can use it as a template for the other provinces. Here is the nomination link, and I've added your name as co-nominator: Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of municipalities in Albacete/archive1. Mattximus (talk) 19:02, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's great, Mattximus. It's nice to see the list there. I'll be ready to respond to any comments which may come up. And, in the meantime, I will keep on working on updating other lists, so that they will be ready as soon as we have the heads-up for the prose. Cheers, Alavense (talk) 05:24, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations on the promotion of the municipalities list! Now we have a templated, would you like to promote another? I'm open to helping standardize these pages now that we have a good format. Mattximus (talk) 13:08, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your help, Mattximus! The idea is to keep it going, yeah. I'm on holidays till Sunday, but I was thinking of getting the next one ready as soon as I'm back and then co-nomimating it with you. Is that fine by you? Kind regards. Alavense (talk) 14:36, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure if you let me know which one I can work on it while you are away. Mattximus (talk) 17:27, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Toledo, in the same autonomous community, is ready. It's only missing the adapted text and the map showing the municipalities. It would be great if you could do that and then let me know, I'll have a look and then you can nominate it. Thanks, Mattximus :) Alavense (talk) 17:41, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All done but no rush, I also did Guadalajara. We just need to verify the land values for the provinces but that can be done after your vacation, talk to you then. Mattximus (talk) 17:51, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about the land values, Mattximus? Alavense (talk) 17:53, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find accurate land value for the province in the lead from the link provided, but maybe I'm just bad at looking? Mattximus (talk) 18:17, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Alavense, would you be ok if I nominated the Toledo list? The Guadalajara list has a few supports already meaning we can get another going at the same time. If you are ok I will co-nominate again, and hopefully we can get some quick promotions. Mattximus (talk) 20:26, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Mattximus. I hope you are doing okay. Of course, it's fine by me. I just checked and everything seems to be in order with the list, so we shall go ahead. Kind regards, Alavense (talk) 07:08, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, what are your thoughts on nominating List of municipalities in Cuenca? Our recent one has 3 supports already so this should be allowed. I noticed you said there was some work to do on this on your main page? I did fix up the captions a bit. Mattximus (talk) 20:58, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning, Mattximus. Cuenca is now ready to go! :) You can nominate now that the suggestions have been incorporated and the captions improved. Let's keep it going. Alavense (talk) 06:42, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done! I'm also happy to make future changes but it may be 1-2 day delay for me due to work. Thanks for your excellent improvements based on previous noms, this one should pass pretty smoothly. Mattximus (talk) 22:57, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's great, Mattximus. Three featured lists already. :) At some point, I'll need you to have a look at my doubts about Araba/Álava and Gipuzkoa, where there are comarcas and I'm unsure whether we have to mention that on the prose or not. Otherwise, I think everything is going smoothly. Alavense (talk) 07:13, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. John Higgins page

[edit]

Hi how are you doing today ?. I notice there is an error on the John Higgins page but it is auto-protected. Can you help me out please ?. Thank you 178.167.179.28 (talk) 13:23, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What's the issue? Anyway, if you think there's any mistake, the best place to point it out is the talk page. Kind regards. Alavense (talk) 14:00, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello a final was removed from the John Higgins non-ranking final section. This seemed to be deleted in error. The 2023 Huangguoshu Open was an invitational event which was played and is clearly referenced as an invitational/non-ranking event with a source from Snooker.org the number one site used to reference tournaments on the seasons page. Can you add this result back onto the John Higgins career finals section please ?. Thank you 178.167.177.149 (talk) 14:24, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the referenced source from Snooker.org [1]

Hi can you replace this edit since you removed it in error please ?. As you can see it is properly sourced. Many thanks 178.167.178.224 (talk) 19:59, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Troika FA Nom

Just thought I would let you know that your review for Troika has been addressed. Hopefully it resolves what you saw as issues. Paleface Jack (talk) 18:59, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New nominations?

[edit]

Hi there, congrats on the most recent featured list! I was looking at List of municipalities in Álava and wondering if you would be opposed to having two columns for the two languages for the cuadrillas? The official names seem to have a / in them so I don't think two columns are needed for the name, but I'm not an expert. Some like Agurain/Salvatierra appear to be in the incorrect order from the "official" name. What do you think? Should this be the next nominated list? Mattximus (talk) 16:00, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mattximus. I'm a bit busy these days, so I'd suggest going for Biscay now, which is already ready - save the captions. Regarding Álava, those names there are the official ones. If they have the "/" or "-" in them, it's because it's part of the official name, making it bilingual, so I think we should keep them the way they are. The same with for cuadrillas. Salvatierra/Agurain is the official name - although some claim it's Agurain/Salvatierra, that does not seem to be true. Kind regards, Alavense (talk) 09:00, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No hurry, I made a few changes, but before nominating List of municipalities in Biscay, I'm wondering if there was a reason that the comarcas are missing? I can add them if you want before nomination. Mattximus (talk) 20:38, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
