Hey - I've suggested an alteration to the folk etymology portion of the ampersand article, if you want to check out the discussion of that entry...BloodIron (talk) 02:57, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
You maybe interested in the Article Rescue Squadron
[edit]I notice that you are part of Category:Inclusionist_Wikipedians. I would like you to consider joining the Article Rescue Squadron. Rescue Squadron members are focused on rescuing articles for deletion, that might otherwise be lost forever. I think you will find our project matches your vision of Wikipedia.

Julius Caesar
[edit]Hi, please would you come up with an authority to support the concept that Gaius was the equivalent of a 21st century 'first-name'. Thanks. Eddaido (talk) 11:57, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi! Well, the Romans obviously had a different naming culture than we do, so I suppose you can't say that the Latin "praenomen" is in all respects identical to our "first-name". However, the article says that "'Gaius' was his personal name", i.e. that "Gaius" was the name that was given to him, and not inherited. That this is so is trivially true, and so it seems to me overtly pedantic to demand an explicit reference. For more information, see Roman naming conventions. Maybe a link to that article would suffice? I won't revert your edit again, in case you still think a reference is needed, but in my opinion it is unnecessary. --Alatius (talk) 21:50, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Still trying to send messages via Wikipedia
[edit]So I figured my last attempt might not have been the best one. In case you don't know what I'm talking about: it really wasn't. In case you do: I'm a damn genius but here we go again.
Hi Alatius, I came here to thank you for adding the general declaration of human rights in Tengwar to its page. That made me laugh really hard and be happy about humanity for a moment. I hope you're having a great day or night whenever you read this. Finne Finne.teresa02 (talk) 00:36, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message! Yes, I'm very happy about that choise of text! However, it wasn't my decision to begin with: I merely remade an older image, using my newer (and better) font. The original was this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tengwar_sample.png Alatius (talk) 08:17, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
