Vanity articles
[edit]Please don't create articles about yourself or your friends. We're building an encyclopedia here, and it's very unlikely that your article fits in with that. Creating such articles also makes work for others as we rush to delete them. The Wikipedia policy on vanity articles can be reviewed here and here and the reason your article was deleted can be reviewed here. If you have any questions or need any help, please contact me. Thanks.➨ ❝REDVERS❞ 15:26, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Please stop
[edit]Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. ➨ ❝REDVERS❞ 15:30, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
What I want to know is why you can have your own page and I get warning s for it please just explain that.
By starting an account or logging in, each user is entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves. That is not the same as creating a vanity article about oneself. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a random collection of pages. When a user adds things that go against our policies, administrators warn them on their talk pages. If a user continues after being warned, administrators will usually sanction them for doing so. More information on how Wikipedia works can be found at:

- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
This should help explain things a bit. --Fire Star 15:53, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Vanity pages vs User pages
[edit]Hi Alan. There is a fundamental difference between your user page and the encyclopedia.
The encyclopedia is for articles about notable people and things. Your user page can have whatever you like (within reason) on it.
Your user page is located here.
Please don't create articles about yourself in the main encyclopedia.
Here's a nice welcome message that has some handy links you might like to read:

Okay I understand now
I understand you think "It is a well established fact that Burnley FC are the best Football club there ever has, is and ever will be" so do i but this is an not an opinion based website, if you continue to change this article you will most likely be banned from editing.--Childzy 16:56, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
