I noticed that you have been fixing Red Links. Thank you. There are a lot to be fixed, eh? I couldn't help but notice that you may not be familiar with the suggested protocol for fixing Red Links:

" To keep the list tidy, remove suggestions that were correct and have been dealt with. Remove sections that no longer contain any lines. Where a suggestion is incorrect, strike it out and add a note saying why. For example:

10th Genie Awards links to Allan Lee, try Alan Lee - film editor v book illustrator

If you follow this method then other editors will not spend time looking at your work.

Thanks for your support of Wikipedia. WVhybrid 21:56, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for the suggestions Akubra 17:52, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to WP:MESO

Hi there Akubra, and welcome to the Mesoamerica wikiproject. It's good to see you around and working in this area, and thanks for those couple of great article starts - nicely done! Cheers, --cjllw | TALK 00:09, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome. I'm quite interested in Mesoamerica and I will enjoy expanding and improving the information on this project.Akubra 20:40, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, there!! Good job on the Maya art article. I also notice that you live near the British Museum. Due to its strict image policy, Wikipedia is, in general, very lacking in quality images and it would be just wonderful if you were able to grab a few shots of Mesoamerican artifacts there in London. My particular interest in Olmec, but we Mesoamericanistic Wikipedians would jump for joy to see any new uploads. Just a thought, Madman 01:05, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded 4 images, which can be seen on my Userpage, including 2 Olmec figurines. The photographic conditions in the museum were less than ideal (low lighting, glass cases etc.), but I think these 4 can be put to good use. Akubra 21:14, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the British Museum photos!!
Thanks very much. Both of the Olmec photos will highlight subjects already discussed in Olmec-related articles (i.e. baby-faced motif in Olmec figurine and were-jaguars). Just perfect. And I see that the Aztec and Maya ones have already found a home (good job!).
Yes, I can tell that the conditions there are at the Museum at not optimal, but you did very well. Thanks! Madman 21:35, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Me again. Would it be alright if I uploaded these photos into Wikipedia Commons? Madman 23:48, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded them to the Commons, same filenames (except Mayapanel1.JPG which is Mayapanel.JPG on the Commons) Akubra 17:01, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

La Corona article

[edit]

Akubra, I applaud your efforts at article creation. I took the liberty of nominating La Corona for the Did you know. . . section on the Main Page. I also added an photo of the panel (block, stone) referred to in the article. Go get 'em, Madman 01:22, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Akubra 07:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

[edit]
Updated DYK query On 22 September, 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article La Corona, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Supermarine Spitfire FPC vote

[edit]

Hi Akubra,
I was wondering if you had a preference for an edit version on Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Supermarine Spitfire XVI? If you do not specify an edit, your vote will count as a support for the original version. Thanks! --Fir0002 23:49, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just put my vote for Edit 4 on. Thanks for notifying me. Akubra 00:03, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Entering Space: Creating a Spacefaring Civilization

[edit]

The article Entering Space: Creating a Spacefaring Civilization has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references since its creation in 2006, flagged for lack of references since 2008; no evidence of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
