Notability of Tom Moncrieff

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Tom Moncrieff, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SamBC(talk) 22:07, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You keep deleting my responses on the talk page. Knock it off, it isn't very nice.Ajmccarrell 23:40, 15 August 2007 (UTC)ajmccarrell[reply]
I think you mean the article itself. I was explaining to you in edit summaries that you do not need a {{hangon}} tag for afds. Sorry for the confusion. -WarthogDemon 23:42, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I keep leaving messages on the talk page of the article, notating the notability of several production members and it keeps being deleted. Also, there are plenty of sources at the bottom, including All Music Guide, so why do you keep marking it as unreferenced? I'm very careful about that.Ajmccarrell 23:43, 15 August 2007 (UTC)ajmccarrell[reply]
Can you link to the talk page in question? I just checked and I don't appear to have removed text from any talk pages, and I'm unsure as to what page you mean at this point. -WarthogDemon 23:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here it goes: Here is a policy that makes it not eligible for deletion, "Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. " Both Gary Hodges and Tom Moncrieff were part of Buckingham Nicks, which was a notable band. The producer and backup vocalist Charlie Chalmers has also been a major player in the soul music industry with uncountable hits stemming from the 1950's on. This is reason enough not to delete.
