Speedy deletion of MyOutdoorTV
[edit]A tag has been placed on MyOutdoorTV, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - The article still seemed a little spammy. Write from the neutral point of view, do not make excessive use of external links in the main prose of the article, and remember to cite what you write to reliable sources. The first thing you should do, however, is take a look at our notability guidelines and make sure that the company is notable enough for inclusion in the encyclopedia. J Milburn (talk) 19:27, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- A few more sources wouldn't go amiss, and the first line should say what the site is. The idea of the lead section is to introduce the article, summarising everything that is said without going into specifics. J Milburn (talk) 21:22, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if I remember correctly, the thing that tipped it for me was too many external links in the prose. If you want to have some time to work on the article before it is placed in the mainspace (and so a prime target for deletion) then you could create it in a sandbox, such as User:Ajbaer2/MyOutdoorTV, then it could be worked on and reviewed (I'd be happy to review it for you) before being placed in the mainspace. J Milburn (talk) 21:15, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- You haven't changed much since last time- please reference as much of the information as possible to third party, reliable sources, and provide some context right at the start of the article- explain what the website is, then when it was founded. See YouTube- "YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. YouTube was created in mid-February 2005 by three former PayPal employees." Speedy deletion of Myoutdoortv
[edit]A tag has been placed on Myoutdoortv requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:21, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I tagged it for speedy deletion as not notable, which appears to have been declined, meaning an admin disagreed with my opinion and it won't be deleted for now. The previous versions MyOutdoorTV were deleted under WP:CSD#G11 (blatant advertising). I don't have access to those, so I can't comment. Having lasted for 6 months doesn't imply that the article won't be deleted for various reasons. You may wish to read WP:COI for a start. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:15, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have cleaned up the article that was originally at Myoutdoortv, but which I have moved to MyOutdoorTV.com. I have also added a few external links that show that it is notable. I doubt very much that anyone will call for its deletion now, though the article could certainly use work. J Milburn (talk) 17:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
