[edit]Hello, I'm NebY. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Interpretatio graeca, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. NebY (talk) 10:11, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Interpretatio graeca, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You have provided no WP:RS reference stating that the Greeks thought Banebdjedet to be an equivalent of Pan, and neither of our articles support that either - for which, of course, a WP:RS would be required. Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Interpretatio graeca, you may be blocked from editing. NebY (talk) 10:41, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Interpretatio graeca. NebY (talk) 13:30, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

What you or I think about something is what's called "Original Research" on Wikipedia
[edit]Hi Aisxulos, and welcome to the Wikipedia project!
The problem with what you have added to Interpretatio graeca is that you've added your own ideas about what different deities may resemble each other.
- I added Banebdjedet as the Egyptian equivalent to Pan
- I added Geb as the Egyptian equivalent to Cronos
- I added Khonsu as the Egyptian equivalent to Heracles
I pretty much agree with you about this. They seem similar enough - why not add add them? So what's the problem here?
What I think about the resemblances is purely my own opinion, or in Wikipedia jargon Wikipedia:No original research
What is required here is not what you or I think about what different deities may resemble each other, but what the sources - be that ancient or modern - say about how different deities may resemble each other.
Is this helpful for you?
