Welcome from Ioeth

[edit]

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Respect intellectual property rights - do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
  • Maintain a neutral point of view when editing articles - this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account being blocked from editing.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Talk Back

Username sounds like an organization

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: It sounds like a role account. In addition, you should take the time to read WP:COI and WP:ADVERT.. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 15:16, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I first started in Wikipedia by writing the page on Agricultural Marketing, so when I needed a name..... This is my area of work. I work for the UN not for a private company. I use AgricMarketing for economic edits but a different name for other contributions, which are mainly about places.Agricmarketing (talk) 06:30, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool - thanks for clarifying. We get a lot of PR companies and Marketing companies that come to Wikipedia to promote their clients. Based on your explanation and looking at your edits, it appears that this is not the case. Please let me know if I can be of assistance. Cheers. Toddst1 (talk) 13:56, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Global warming, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Wikipedia:General sanctions/Climate change probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.

The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you. -- TS 21:36, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agricultural marketing

[edit]

Sorry to confuse I was dating the "Who" template, and just took out some blank lines at the same time. It's obvious you are an expert in the subject, the page does seem very focussed on the FAO and developing countries. There's nothing about marketing boards in the UK for example, or the French Golden Delcious marketing campaign, Danish bacon, New Zealand lamb, British beef or Appelation Controlee. Also I noticed a lot of truisms crept in "over-regulation has bad effects" to paraphrase - well that's the definition of over-regulation. It would be good to see cites for the ROI for road building in agricultural areas, for example. Rich Farmbrough, 23:44, 18 October 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Professional association into Inter-professional association. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:39, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
