[edit]Hi African pride479! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Tyla (singer) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Tyla (singer), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 19:28, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
Interactions with other editors
[edit]Hello, I'm Serge, an Admin here on Wikipedia. I appreciate your enthusiasm for editing and discussing issues on talk pages. However, please be aware of some expectations on Wikipedia for interacting with other editors. For the record, I am not here because I object or contest any of your views on race. The problem lies in how you are addressing other editors at Talk:Tyla (singer).
- Please be sure to assume good faith and refrain from personal attacks. You seem to be making a lot of accusations towards other editors. We have a mantra here on Wikipedia - comment on content, not editors". I encourage you to follow it. Similarly, no name calling. That includes calling people "Karens", etc.
- You need to stop making comments that aim to attack or create a "chilling effect" on discussion or participation. It is not appropriate, for example, to threaten to make YouTube videos attacking other editors you disagree with. Wikipedia is not a battleground.
- Similarly, you should not be making comments like "Between the two of us, i'm probably the only real african descent person here, and I can prove it." It is not a contest. Disputes on Wikipedia are settled by the presentation of reliable sources and consensus building among any good-faith participants.
Please adjust your approach on these things. I say this not as a threat, but as an editor of 15 years - I've seen many people try to edit Wikipedia with this approach. It doesn't work. Editors won't find it persuasive, and you'll eventually find yourself getting reported for violating WP:NPA, WP:AGF, WP:ASPERSIONS. Sergecross73 msg me 02:17, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
