Re:Gudalur
[edit]I have reverted your most recent edit. There are many Gudalurs. I think you are meaning to edit Gudalur (Nilgiris district). That's the Nilgiris one. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 16:33, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Your edits to Pandalur were problematic for five reasons. First, they were unexplained; you gave no edit summary until the most recent (and even that was unhelpful). Secondly, you provide no sources for what looks like a long personal essay (which is of dubious relevance to this article). Thirdly, they introduced a number of errors of English and formattting. Fourthly, the image was incorrectly placed and formatted. Fifthly, it has an incorrect license (it's pretty clear that you didn't in fact take the photograph yourself), and has no source. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 17:11, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please stop this; if you continue to make edits that violate our formatting rules, introduce grammatical errors, add large amounts of text without a source, and add your signature to the article, you'll be blocked from editing for disruption.
- If you don't understand something, feel free to ask — but don't insist on your mistakes. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 22:24, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 22:11, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit]I didn't understand everything that you said, but note that I didn't warn you merely for adding material, but for insisting on adding it after my explanation as to why there was a problem.
Wikipedia policy is that material that is added must be give a source (see WP:CITE); it's not enough for someone to say that they know that something is correct — it must be cited by verifiable sources. Similarly, images may be up-loaded, but must meet a set of citeria about sources, copyright status, licensing, etc. (as explained at the up-load page and linked articles). --Mel Etitis (Talk) 13:52, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Pandalur2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pandalur2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 22:37, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
