Help with adding images
[edit]How to add images to Wikipedia with a preview on the page of an image file uploaded to wikimedia commons website. I added images to Wikipedia page for West Norwood Cemetery but images are represented as external links not pre-loaded previews Adrian816 (talk) 12:42, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

- Which images are you trying to add to the West Norwood Cemetery article? It looks like you added the description text of the images' pages rather than links to the images themselves. —C.Fred (talk) 12:48, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- I found the images. The side view is placed inline in the section on the crematorium, since I felt it enhances understanding of that section. The front view is in the gallery. Look at this diff if you want to see the code I added to make the images show up. —C.Fred (talk) 12:55, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- In case you're still having problems inserting images from Commons into Wikipedia, you might like to work through this answer I gave at the Teahouse recently - it works for both of the two different editing tools we have on offer here: Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions/Archive_700#I_want_to_add_a_picture
- By the way, you don't need to use the {{helpme}} template if all you're doing is making a helpful suggestion as you did at Wikipedia talk:File Upload Wizard and Wikipedia talk:Image use policy. I think these were both made in the right place, so I've removed the templates and made your suggestion more visible. Best place to use them is mostly on your own talk page -that way you also keep the responses close to hand for future reference. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 11:18, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- I used the helpme template to request a page administrator edit the file upload page directly since it’s protected from logged-in user edits Adrian816 (talk) 11:32, 28 February 2018 (UTC)

Personal attacks
[edit]As I said here, I'd like to see an explanation how my deletion proposal could be taken as a personal attack. Huon (talk) 00:17, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
- Adrian, your conduct at the AfD is unacceptable. This is a warning that if you persist on attacking Huon - or any other editor - you risk being blocked. Examples: "Proposal for deletion without incorporating the text into soldier(of the Salvation Army) is considered a mendacious attempt to eviscerate from wikipedia anything that doesn't contain some criticism of the Salvation Army", "That's bordering on violating policy WP:NPA", and "please familiarise yourself with what documents constitute the articles of faith, namely the Soldiers covenant and Handbook of Doctrine before making a blanket statement about what's notable or not, and raising this AFD discussion as a new item on my talk page is reminiscent of "attention seeking". Focus on why you think the article should be kept or merged rather than sniping at other editors.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:23, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
