Hi. I modified your edits to Catskill High Peaks to bring them into conformity with our usual practices:

  • The concept of Catskill peaks above 3,500 feet getting some special status, as the article says, predates the establishment of the 3500 Club by more than a decade. The club's contribution is the peak-separation rule (Not that that makes any difference to the birds!). This information should be introduced at the appopriate point in the article.
  • You did not need to change the link to the 3500 Club article to a redlink. Although I appreciate, and will implement, the suggestion for a redirect.

On the whole though, I'm glad to see another person here interested in editing Catskills-related articles. Daniel Case 21:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment to Daniel Case

[edit]

About the comment you left on Daniel Case's user page [1], user pages are not the correct place for user comments. I relocated it to his Talk page [2]. -- Gogo Dodo 05:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Blackheads and their visibility

[edit]

Elie,

The first sentence is fine and I'll put it in the article. The other ones are subjective, which we try to avoid around here.

I'll respond to your email later ... there's a lot of post-holiday cleanup to do around here and I'm overwhelmed. Daniel Case 18:46, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images

[edit]

See WP:UPIMAGE for the how-to. If it isn't clear, here are my instructions:

  1. Click on "upload file" on the left of the page.
  2. Click the "Browse" button to open a window that will let you search for the picture on your computer.
  3. In the text box, write something about who took the picture and when (i.e., yourself on such-and-such a date) and maybe the circumstances under which it was taken.
  4. Choose the license you want from the dropdown menu (go with GFDL-self; it's the most widely used free license around here)
  5. Hit save. You will probably end up with an image page showing the uploaded picture.

I don't know if the help page explains how to put the image in the article. For a Kudish headshot, I'd just do this:[[Image:FILENAME|thumb|right|300px (or maximum at which it looks good)|Michael Kudish in 2006.]]

Anything more, let me know. Daniel Case 15:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
