Speedy deletion nomination of S5 class
Hello Adamgerber80,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged S5 class for deletion, because it seems to be an article that was previously deleted by a consensus decision.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Nicky mathew (talk) 10:28, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited INS Dwarka, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Okha. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:59, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm MBlaze Lightning. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Indian Coast Guard, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hey,the updates I did are based on the numbers(sum of each category class) actually present in the columns for the respective boat classes. The cumulative numbers were outdated as over time some boats have been decommissioned/commissioned but they were not updated. Each of those boat class numbers are backed by their respective class pages which have all the necessary references(I know because I update them frequently and add the necessary references). As I said in my commit message, not everything needs a reference(because there might not actually exist one,AFAIK the coast guard does not publicly publish cumulative class category numbers, nor does any other agency including Jane's) but can derived from inference, the very reason Wikipedia exists is to collect open source information. If you would like to confirm references for each of those individual numbers, please feel free to visit individual boat classes and confirm(again I did mention that in my commit message to check the Bharati class page for more information). Please do a bit more verification/checks before randomly reverting edits. Thanks

Sir, I edited page on P15B about it's armaments, I don't have any reliable source but have images from Defexpo 2016 in which MDL had an poster in which it was clearly stated that 4x8-cell BrahMos will be on P15B, so I edited P15B armaments. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mularam2014 (talk • contribs) 16:42, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
Hey Mularam2014, Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your valuable contributions to the Indian Navy associated pages. The reason I edited your contributions was because they did not have references which could be verified by a third party. Most newspaper articles(existing references which can be verified) point to 8-16 BrahMos missiles not 32. It is great to hear that you have pictures of the MDL poster on P15B and you can use that as a reference(as long as the text is legible in the photos). A good way to do this is to upload these photographs to Wikimedia Commons and then refer to that in the article. Contributing to Wikipedia at times might involve a bit of work but is necessary to ensure the authenticity of information. Keep up the good work and let me know if I can be of any help.
Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Adamgerber80, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to INAS 561 has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 18:52, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hey Diannaa, I understand that this was my second copyright violation and thus warranted the block. I agree that I erred the first time since I am relatively new to Wikipedia and was not aware of the extent of this policy. But I have been careful of this since the first warning. If I remember correctly, there was no direct copy of text and I did reword the lines on the Yudh Send Medal Page from the Indian Navy website. Maybe the rewording was not enough and thus warranted this block again but in my defense at times there is not much rewording to be done when describing a medal or an object. I have been a responsible editor for the last seven months and am very excited to do my bit for the wikipedia community. I have added numerous new pages(related to Indian Navy) and added extensively to existing pages(related to Indian Armed Forces) where most of my information is sourced from news articles. I will be extremely careful of this in the future and request you to please unblock me. Also, I feel a 24 hour block was called for because of my mistake but an indefinite block is bit too harsh and might discourage me from being an active participant of the wikipedia community. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 22:02, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
Accept reason:
Obviously I disagree that the edit for which you were blocked was a copyright violation. Regardless of that, your unblock request demonstrates that you understand copyright law and how it applies to Wikipedia editing and plan on following our copyright policy in the future. In the future, if you can't add a description without it being a copyright violation, don't add it at all. Further copyright violations will result in you being re-blocked. — Diannaa (talk) 22:56, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
Just saw your note regarding 24-hour block versus indefinite block. The reason we started using indef block is because if we do it that way the editor cannot resume editing until they provide us with a clear statement that demonstrates that they have read and understand our copyright policy. There's been many people who simply resume what they were doing, to the detriment of the encyclopedia. Copyright is a very serious issue on this wiki and this is one of the ways we are trying to control it. Sorry if that seems harsh. Best wishes to you and happy editing. — Diannaa (talk) 12:59, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

INS Vikramaditya Image
How to report the image for deletion to Wikimedia? I had uploaded it and am not happy with doing that. I have lost password of the account I used to upload it.
-Anuj.direct
You can put in a deletion request for the image and state your reason at Wikimedia Commons. In general when you upload an image to Wikimedia you give up any copyright to the image and it is released to be under the Common Creative license. But if there are copyright violations or other specific reasons then you can request a deletion. You can find more information here. Adamgerber80 (talk) 07:32, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:00, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Adamgerber80. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Rollback granted
Hi Adamgerber80. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! -- samtar talk or stalk 16:41, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

INS Betwa
The ship INS Betwa is currently being salvaged after an accident where it is tipped over. The ship will not be operational for about two more years. Please reflect this in the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.233.141.25 (talk) 20:09, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Hey, Yes that has been added to the page already. The status of the ship is connected to it being in service with the Indian Navy and is not related to it undergoing repairs. The ship will cease to be active when it is decommissioned or scrapped from the Indian Navy. Ships routinely undergo mid-life updates and repairs in the drydock and are still considered active. The same applies here. If you do wish to edit pages after your changes have been reverted, it is recommended to discuss them on the Talk page. Using multiple accounts(registered or not) can be considered as an attempt to evade consensus building and can lean to permanent blocks. Thanks Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:19, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Bipin Rawat COAS.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Bipin Rawat COAS.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:13, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hey Diannaa, Please see this discussion and the question I posted here. My point of argument is that these photos satisfy the the 1st requirement since it is impossible to obtain them otherwise and thus there will not be freely available otherwise. Happy to discuss more on this. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:45, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- Non-free images of living people are considered as being replaceable, and therefor they fail the non-free content requirements. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:48, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- Diannaa Yes I have read that but my argument is that even if the 'military person' is currently living, his/her image in full uniform is controlled and released by only the Indian government. Any image released by the Indian Government is considered non-free under Wikimedia commons rules and thus will never be replaceable. This is the under the same logic as the one where images of rocketry(from the same source under the same license) were considered not replaceable and allowed under Fair Use terms. Just as point of reference, this image(and other images uploaded by me under Fair use) were deleted in wikimedia commons since it does not meet their rules. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:57, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- I understand your argument but I do not agree with it. I have also nominated File:Birender Singh Dhanoa COAS.jpg and File:Shirish Baban Deo CAS.jpg for deletion. If you wish to make a case for why these images should be an exception, please post on each file talk page using the instructions provided on the deletion template on the file. Then the reviewing administrator will assess and decide whether or not each image should be kept. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:09, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- Diannaa Thanks for your help. I have added the reason. Is there a policy to dispute deletion of files on the English Wikipedia, similar to the one on wikimedia commons. Adamgerber80 (talk) 21:16, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- If the reviewing admin decides to delete any or all of the nominated images, the first step is to discuss it with them on their talk page.
- The second step, if you do not convince them and wish to pursue further, is to proceed to Wikipedia:Deletion review. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:20, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal
You undid the edits on this page with a comment "missing reference". If you had spent even a split second to click on the reference link at the bottom of the page, you would have seen the listing on the Indian Army official website. Please clarify your "actual" objection before undoing my edits again. Thank you. J J Parikh 03:13, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- User:Parikhjigish The references should be clearly cited across the section which you wish to add. External Links are meant to supplement the information present not act as references. Please try to understand how Wikipedia works and the difference between external links and references for each article. I have no objection to that list being updated as long as it properly referenced and correctly edited(which it still isn't). It would be wise to avoid personal attacks on other editors and work towards improving articles within the correct framework. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 05:46, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

February 2017
Your recent editing history at Hsiung Feng III shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. L3X1 My Complaint Desk 21:25, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
- L3X1, Thanks for the warning and I will be extremely careful of this in the future. I will also refrain from editing the article and Brahmos until we reach a consensus. Just to point out that the edits were not only reverted by me but also by other editors. Repeated attempts to have the editor to discuss this on the Talk page were not initially successful. This has been the same attitude on Brahmos where the editor still refuses to comment on the Talk page and reach a consensus. Second, I would like to point out that most of these edits seem to be from the same user using different unregistered IP's making it seem that there are multiple editors here. Third, the editor continues to indulge in personal attacks which I have refrained from. Please let me know how to sort these issues. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 22:22, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
- Adamgerber80 I noticed the different IP's on the revision history were making the exact same changes, and wondered if this was a possible case of WP:SOCK. I suggest one of the following:
- Go to the AN/I and pursue it as a sock investigation. However, this may not be accepted or may produce the opposite of the desired intention. I say this because your position on this may be considered non-neutral or your case may not be considered valid as the previous IP is no longer in use.
- Ask an admin to put a block on the previous IP for the duration of the RfC. But as stated above, if it isn't being used directly as a SOCK during the RfC, it may not be complied with.
- Not think about it. I think enough of us would know if the IP attempted to sock, and it would backfire quickly before any real harm were done. Skipping a sock investigation also makes life easier. Glad to be of service. L3X1 My Complaint Desk 22:41, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
- L3X1, I understand the points you make about the SOCK investigation and I agree with your conclusion that it might not be worth pursuing. I have a couple of follow-up questions: First, will the decision of this RfC being binding on other articles, example Brahmos as well? Second, Can I as a non-neutral party comment, rebut or provide more information on the RfC or is my initial position assumed? Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 01:04, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- Adamgerber80, based off everything I have seen, the RfC will be binding on related articles, especially in regard to the DefenceNews and other sources. As for the other 2 points, I'm not entirely sure. However, in any edit-discussions for other articles like Brahmos, this RfC can be used as a source and used for precedent. The only way I see it as non-binding for other articles is if someone could prove that the circumstances were different for the topic in dispute, or it was outdated. I can also state that "the RFC is not a majority vote, but instead a discussion among Wikipedia contributors. …Consensus (agreement) is gauged based on the merits of the arguments, not by counting votes" to quote a RfC template. L3X1 My Complaint Desk 01:16, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- Edit: I forgot to address your last question: Yes you can Comment, seeing as the RfC is separate from the above discussion, but I personally would wait to !Vote until a couple people had voiced their opinions. I would also suggest not behaving like Snuggums did on the AfD for Mary Anne McLeaod Trump. L3X1 My Complaint Desk 01:24, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- L3X1, I do understand what you are trying to say about waiting before I comment. And yes, your point on the AfD behavior is appreciated. Thanks for all your help. Adamgerber80 (talk) 01:36, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Suggestion for page protection related to Hsiung Feng III
Hi, Adamgerber80, on the discussion for Hsiung Feng III you've proposed Semi Protection for three articles. I am wondering whether you should also include a fourth, namely Taiwan and weapons of mass destruction. I was researching for the Hsiung Feng III discussion and noticed some similar IP / Anon activity there regarding 'hypersonic' and 'nuclear'. I put a note on the other discussion, as a reply to one of your comments, but the whole thing has been so chaotic, that I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it. Cheers merlinVtwelve (talk) 11:45, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hey merlinVtwelve, Yes I did see that and added a fifth one to the list Brain size. There is also a list of IP's I am now tracking which is supposedly being used by the IP hopper. Feel free to add on this discussion User_talk:Vanamonde93#Help_with_difficult_editor we have initiated with the involved administrator. Lastly, I believe we should open a SOCK investigation on this user since he/she now claims that they are all different editors. Thanks for your help. Adamgerber80 (talk) 12:45, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Okay, will do. I just had a look at that discussion, and it confirms that a specific VPN was involved. Very interesting indeed. Cheers merlinVtwelve (talk) 19:37, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- merlinVtwelve, Blurp92 So it seems that the IP hopper has affected more articles then we were aware of. Here are 3 more articles that have seen similar disruptions List of human spaceflight programs, National Space Organization, National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology. I think this could be turning into a serious problem since it is very difficult to track his edits because of the VPN. Maybe we should bring in more admins into this to see what can be done. Any thoughts? Adamgerber80 (talk) 04:34, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- It might take a while to find them all. Here are a couple more where the same 'Powerhouse' editor has been slipping in unsourced claims: Stealth ship and Hypersonic speed. I found those just by casually looking – and when I get the time will look more thoroughly. Although these have gone un-noticed, and have not necessarily been causing disruption up until now, I am sure if I try and edit them, he/she will become disruptive. He / she seems to be able to get around the usual safeguards against WP:SOCK activities. Seems like an issue here that admins need to address, to protect Wikipedia from this type of activity in future, as he/she won't be the last to use these methods. And we are not talking about a trivial matter – these are completely false claims about nuclear weapons. merlinVtwelve (talk) 05:04, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- I've had a further look, and only found one more, Human spaceflight, which is already semi protected for the time being, for other reasons apparently. But I'm just a plain vanilla editor, with just the usual tools, so it's hard to know what else is out there. I am wondering whether Admins would have access to special tools or bots etc., which could scan right across Wikipedia? merlinVtwelve (talk) 20:26, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- I did try to ping one of the involved admins here User_talk:Vanamonde93#Help_with_difficult_editor but that has not lead to much expect SEMI on these pages. Maybe we should post this at the Admin Noticeboard and see if we get any help there. Adamgerber80 (talk) 21:03, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

Re Declined RFPP fo missile
Hello Adamgerber80, I saw the admin-on-duty declined your RFPP, so I added the missile to my watchlist and will keep an eye on it to make sure vandalism is kept at a minimum. L3X1 My Complaint Desk 18:19, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- L3X1 Thanks a lot for that. I have a bigger problem then that now which is the IP hopper going through my contributions and undoing all my edits. It is hard to protect against this but has to be dealt with. Adamgerber80 (talk) 19:02, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- Indeed s/he seems on a revenge mission now, having also attacked some of mine (thanks Adamgerber80 for fixing at least one of them). Not sure how long this can go on for? I would have thought the higher-ups at Wikipedia would have encountered this kind of thing before. VPNs have been around for a long time, and I'm sure IP-hopping must be a regular occurrence? merlinVtwelve (talk) 20:42, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- merlinVtwelve I have opened another dialogue with User_talk:Vanamonde93#Harassment_by_IP_hopper since this admin seems to be familiar with the incident. The suggested action was to take this to ANI. Maybe if we can show that this is a serious problem since at least 2 editors are being harassed it will be noticed. Adamgerber80 (talk) 21:18, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- All known Tor exit nodes are blocked to prevent editing abuse by anonymous vandals who can switch between servers at will, so based on that, it's safe to say that the (admittedly extreme) solution to this is to identify the IPs used by the VPN the IP hopper uses and block them from editing. Blurp92 (talk) 22:54, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- Blurp92 I can get that list since there are websites which keep track of this. Last time I checked this particular VPN has access to 60,000 IP's. I am not sure if Wikipedia is open to blocking all of them. Adamgerber80 (talk) 22:58, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- Sadly, according to Powerhouse, the grand total is more than 200,000. This is going to take a while. Blurp92 (talk) 23:00, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- And the IP hopper is back. Is there a way we can bring more admins in on this? Reporting at ANI might help. Adamgerber80 (talk) 05:21, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- All seems to be quiet now, hopefully. I just noticed something interesting actually. For one of his IP addresses, he may have forgotten to activate the VPN. If you look at this series of edits [1], and then check the Geolocate details, there is no mention of Powerhouse. It comes up as 'fixed broadband' on 'China Telecom jiangsu', based in Nanjing, China. Interesting. merlinVtwelve (talk) 06:58, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- Actually not. The IP hopper still continues to attack pages I edit. I am not surprised that the editor is from PRC. Some other editor also noticed other edits from PRC. I actually added some references to an article on Taiwanese Ballistic Defense Shield which were removed. It is annoying to deal with him/her but I refuse to be bullied. Adamgerber80 (talk) 13:01, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- OK, I spoke too soon. Will keep an eye also on Sky Bow. I notice you removed some dubious material also at Human spaceflight. His/her agenda seems to be making Taiwan appear to be as threatening as possible. merlinVtwelve (talk) 20:12, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- It is unclear what is the agenda for the editor. But I am going through a bunch of Taiwan weapons related articles and I find his/her fingerprint everywhere with uncited info. I re-edited a couple more articles Sky Sword I, Sky Sword II which had no references. Thanks for keeping an eye out on other articles. Adamgerber80 (talk) 23:16, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- Incredibly annoying and such a waste of everyone's time. Will add the Sky Swords to the list as well. merlinVtwelve (talk) 03:26, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

slc2 radar
Slc2 radar was shown at pakistan army parade day 2016.so whar's the need of ref. Humayun1919 (talk) 02:03, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
Adamberger80 slc2 radar was revealed at pakistan parade day 2016 so what's the need of ref..? Humayun1919 (talk) 02:13, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- Wikipedia relies on references which can checked by anyone for confirmation. Someone claiming that it was shown during the parade is not enough since we would also have to watch the video. If it was showed during the Pakistan Army Parade, then it should have been reported in the Pakistani media and that reference would do. Alternately, any book, journal or another reliable source which is available in print will suffice. Do remember that blogs or forums like defense.pk are not acceptable. Thanks. Jets of the Indian Airforce HAL Tejas numbers
I have given 2 very reliable sources including flight global to alter the HAL Tejas numbers ordered to 123. I can give more if required, as its a very well known fact. Please use those 2 sources as a citation and add the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.184.186.43 (talk) 15:12, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

Guess who's back....
There is a whole raft of new additions at Human spaceflight, and the themes look very familiar. Taiwan/hypersonic/scramjet, etc, etc. I haven't done anything at this stage. merlinVtwelve (talk) 02:35, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
- merlinVtwelve, Haha. Yes I did see that and did confirm that it is the same person since the IP maps to the same VPN(Powerhouse Management Inc) as before. I have refrained for the time being but think it might be better to get an admin involved upfront vs we taking it into our own hands. What is your opinion on this? Adamgerber80 (talk) 02:42, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
- I'll admit I have limited experience of this kind of thing, but it seems like a good idea. Otherwise, it will be a re-run of what happened last time. This user is very focussed on a narrow band of issues, so I would imagine that the pages s/he attacks should be fairly predictable. merlinVtwelve (talk) 03:04, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
- merlinVtwelve, I found 2 new pages Terminal High Altitude Area Defense and Joint Direct Attack Munition. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:06, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
- Seems to be a slightly new approach here. Will keep an eye on those also. merlinVtwelve (talk) 06:13, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

- Two months of spam and disruption from an IP hopper. Thanks you for being diligent and resilient against this tireless (seemingly) foe. :) L3X1 (distant write) 01:09, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- L3X1 Thanks. One thing we have discovered is that the IP hopper might be troubling me for 2 months but there is a method to this madness. First, the IP hopper has been around for some period of time, my guess at least 2-3 years. I have found edits with similar signatures going back to 2014. The IP hopper edits only Taiwan related topics and adds content with a nationalistic tint to them. There are other editors who have also compiled a list of pages which are affected(some of this is here). When someone discovers edits by the editor which are clearly wrong or misleading, they get attacked as revenge. Is there a way to declare the IP hopper a (long term abuser) and start a page for the future reference? It might make sense to have a list of pages which are affected and a name to refer to when asking for blocks against IP's or semi-protection on pages. Adamgerber80 (talk) 02:04, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- Three years, wow, that is some dedication to being a jerk on the IP's part. I don't know enough about how LTA and socks are determined/caught/marked, but [[W{:ANI|the Admin Noticeboards of Incidents]] will help you. I would think that if a definite list of affected articles was drawn up, it would be easier to get them SEMId for a few months, the admins behind the counter at RFPP don' seem to get the scope of the problem, which is why the requests are either declined or only protected for a token amount (not that I'm being ungrateful). This too is where AN/I will help, all the admins can see and understand the problem. L3X1 (distant write) 13:28, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi. I reversed my rollback and fully protected the page now that I clued in to it being a content dispute. Please continue discussing the matter on the talk page, but do let me know if the discussion strays from out standards of civility. Thanks. El_C 19:27, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- El_C. Thanks a lot. I will continue to discuss the content but in the past the IP hopper has refused to understand the concept of reliable sources. Do you think having a RfC here make sense? Adamgerber80 (talk) 19:40, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- El_C, Courtesy ping to check on the discussion as it is going south again. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:09, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- At a glance, the sources the IP has provided seem reliable. I'm not sure you're at the point of an RfC yet, but you may seek a 3rd opinion if the discussion get stalled. El_C 20:22, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- El_C, I would argue that the authenticity of some of those references. Some of them are blogs and have been refuted in the past. An example, is here Talk:Hsiung_Feng_III#RfC_On_Sources.2C_Nukes.2C_and_Speed. This is the RfC by the same IP hopper where he posted questionable claims on other weapons. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:26, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- But your own source says it air-to-surface, so what are you two arguing over? El_C 20:46, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry did not realize the typo on my part. Have replied. The hazards of trying to type without checking. Sorry. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:58, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- If I can weigh in here. It's not just about content/sources. Yes, this IP hopper will sometimes use reliable references, while other times (more often) not. Part of the problem seems to be that s/he changes IP address with every single edit and comment. Why not stick to the same IP address, or even better open up an account? It's sock puppetry/disruptive editing on quite a large scale. merlinVtwelve (talk) 21:31, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- I agree. The range of articles affected by the IP hopper are numerous. I think one reason the editor does not create an account since it makes it easier to track his/her edits. Adamgerber80 (talk) 21:41, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

- El_C, I would like to point out one thing and I did not want it this to affect the outcome of the discussion(on Wan Chien page) and thus I did not bring it up before. The IP hopper on that page, has been blocked for a period of one week from Wikipedia and continues to evade his/her block. Here are the IP's the editor has been blocked from Special:Contributions/43.249.129.124, Special:Contributions/1.237.20.87, Special:Contributions/60.94.69.103. Also, the editor at the same time continues to disrupt other pages Tuo Chiang-class corvette, Republic of China Armed Forces from other IP's Special:Contributions/45.120.201.175, Special:Contributions/45.120.200.60, Special:Contributions/103.17.199.250, Special:Contributions/60.250.35.190. I can provide other references(talk pages with various administrators) if this might appear to be far-fetched since I have been trying to bring this issue up with other administrators for the past 2 months. The editor has been a long term offender and you can find more information here. The same IP editor has tried to SOCK a RfC as well here. Thanks for all your help so far in moderating the discussion. First good topic from Indian military history
Indian military history topic area gets its first good topic with the promotion of Field marshal (India) to good topic status today. The topic comprises of three articles including the main article—Field marshal (India), and the two holders of the rank—Sam Manekshaw and Kodandera M. Cariappa. Happy editing. I would be delighted if you could be more specific as to the Wikipedia standard of necessary and how these changes do not meet them. 46.226.189.184 (talk) 10:16, 25 March 2017 (UTC)
Zircon (missile)
Hi Adamgerber80, I've just created a new page for Zircon (missile), however I have realised that it may be the same as 3M22 Tsirkon. Are they one and the same? The English language press seems to be using Zircon as the name, anyway. merlinVtwelve (talk) 06:41, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- MerlinVtwelve Yes they are one and the same as far as I know. Here I have a few more references for you on this topic. ([2], [3], [4]). There are also rumors(not confirmed references) that Zircon will be the base for BrahMos-II missile which is being jointly developed by Russia and India. Please let me know if you have any questions. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:40, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will look into this further. At least it seems to be 'hypersonic', for real... merlinVtwelve (talk) 22:39, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
April 2017 - HAL Tejas - "That is not a reliable source"
Hi, I used citation for my changes to HAL Tejas page from reliable source which is ADA annual report 2014-2015. ADA annual report is directly from the team which develops and tests HAL Tejas. Please let me know why if you think otherwise. http://164.100.47.191/paperlaidfiles/DEFENCE/ADA-30th%20AR_Eng.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prudhviy2 (talk • contribs) 22:18, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Prudhviy2 Is this hosted on the ADA website? It seems from the URL that is hosted on a random server. The issue is that the report is authentic but should be linked/hosted off the correct website. If this is the case, then please let me know and I will revert my undo. Thanks Adamgerber80 (talk) 00:48, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
Reliable Sources
I Have added Reliable t from Indian Express and other. 42.109.31.143 (talk) 05:12, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- 42.109.31.143 You have added multiple references from defense blogs like IDRW, bharatshakti which are not accepted as reliable references on Wikipedia. Financial Express and Deccan Chronicle are acceptable references but do not contain all the content you have edited. Please discuss this on the article Talk page before adding them. Thanks Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:58, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Disambiguation pages and A1/A7
Hi, I removed the CSD tags you placed on a few disambiguation pages. Disambiguation pages don't qualify under A1 (you can tell what they are talking about) or A7 (they're directories and the entries on them are usually notable). TonyBallioni (talk) 03:56, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
Cheng Kung-class frigates
Hello there, I was the person who changed the editing for the Cheng Kung-class frigates of the Republic of China Navy. I do understand that these ships originated from the United States Built Perry Class frigates, however they were not "ex-Perry Class" as indicated on the wikipedia page (no citations either) The contents of the link Cheng Kung-class has a full article of Cheng Kung-class being licensed built in Taiwan. They are not second hand purchased ships from the US Navy. There are two Perry class frigates that were purchased from the US Navy, however the other eight Cheng Kung-class ships were locally built in Taiwan and are using Taiwanese made Anti-ship Missiles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.199.203.79 (talk) 05:49, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, 107.199.203.79 thanks for reaching out. I do understand your point. But the Cheng Kung-class are based on the Oliver Perry Class frigates. Yes, mentioning ex-Oliver Class can be misinterpreted as them being old ships bought from the US Navy. Maybe we can put "based on Perry Class Frigates" instead. That would be acceptable to me. At the end of the day, I would like to depict that the Cheng Kung-class designs are related to the Perry Class. What do you think? Adamgerber80 (talk) 19:07, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
Addition of 12 PARA SF
I have a news letter of Parachute Regiment which has record of JCO's being posted to 12 Para SF in 2014 Mercurial96 (talk) 10:39, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
- Mercurial96 This is great. Can you upload this to Wikipedia and make it a free content so it can be used as a reference. We need references which are public and accessible to everyone to verify this information. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:52, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
Indian Navy links
The most links in the references in Mk. IV LCU, like IHS Jane's and other Indian Navy links, have been used web archiving, why not use it? RJDZVYR (talk) 08:40, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- I have explained to you before. PIB self archives it's sources and can be accessed over a long period of time. Yes, the Indian Navy links have been web-archived(to ensure they stick around) but we still consider PIB links to be important since this is the offical source of the Indian Government. You are welcome to add Indian Navy links to the page as well "in addition" to the PIB links that have been added. Do not replace existing reliable sources and for the last time do not engage in an edit war. When your edits are reverted discuss on the article talk page or you could be potentially blocked for edit-warring. Adamgerber80 (talk) 15:09, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
