Image copyright problem with Image:Eleherd.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Eleherd.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 04:52, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:Herd09 04.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Herd09 04.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Your uploads
[edit]Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! STBotI (talk) 05:05, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Enplogo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Enplogo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 03:27, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Elephant Nature Park has been undone because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. 2601:188:0:ABE6:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 02:17, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- You and an IP account have removed a passage and maintenance templates several times, without adequate explanation. The evaluation mentioned in the article came from a notable source. I'd strongly suggest engaging in discussion at the article's talk page. Thank you, 2601:188:0:ABE6:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 02:17, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at Elephant Nature Park shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Please
[edit]Please begin communicating with other editors on the article talk page. You are in serious danger of getting yourself blocked by just reverting the work of other editors and refusing to communicate. LadyofShalott 04:57, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your comment. The changes were to fairly balance the post. This is a report that is the work of one person and it is only fair to balance it.
Why would you not allow an edit on this?
Wikiepedia needs a balance, it is not right just to show one side of an unbalanced report and link
- That information is providing the balance to what was merely a promotional article. Now, take a break, and after your block is over, discuss on the article talk page, which you have yet to edit at all. LadyofShalott 05:13, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

. LadyofShalott 05:05, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Conflict of interest in Wikipedia
[edit]Hi Adamflinn. I work on conflict of interest issues here in Wikipedia. Your edits to date are all - every one of them - about Elephant Nature Park and your username is identical with the name of the person who founded the park. I'm giving you notice of our Conflict of Interest guideline and Terms of Use, and will have some comments and requests for you below.
Hello, Adamflinn. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
- instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.
Comments and requests
[edit]Wikipedia is a widely-used reference work and managing conflict of interest is essential for ensuring the integrity of Wikipedia and retaining the public's trust in it. As in academia, COI is managed here in two steps - disclosure and a form of peer review. Please note that there is no bar to being part of the Wikipedia community if you want to be involved in articles where you have a conflict of interest; there are just some things we ask you to do (and if you are paid, some things you need to do).
Disclosure is the most important, and first, step. While anonymity is strictly protecting by our WP:OUTING policy, you appear to be editing here under your real name, and so you either violating Wikipedia policy by impersonating Adam Flinn, or you are him, and have a financial interest in and external commitment to Elephant Nature Park. In any case, would you please confirm your relationship with Elephant Nature Park? After you respond (and you can just reply below), perhaps we can talk a bit about editing Wikipedia where you have a conflict of interest (what you have been doing, is not OK), and I can give you some more orientation to how this place works. Please reply here - I am watching this page. Thanks! Jytdog (talk) 05:29, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- Please do reply here, before returning to the article. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 08:19, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- I am one of the original founders of Elephant Nature Park and I look forward to hearing from you. Several things have been posted to the ENP page with are either inaccurate or bias and I simply wanted to offer an alternative view point which is only fair.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.172.14.144 (talk • contribs) 09:04, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. Quick note on the logistics of discussing things on Talk pages, which are essential for everything that happens here. Please do sign into your account when you edit, especially if you are editing about something controversial. It is important that every one is understands how many people are involved in a conversation. Also, in Talk page discussions, we "thread" comments by indenting - when you reply to someone, you put a colon ":" in front of your comment, and the Wikipedia (WP) software converts that into an indent; if the other person has indented once, then you indent twice by putting two colons "::" which the WP software converts into two indents, and so on, and when that gets ridiculous you reset back to the margin (or "outdent") by putting this "{{od}}" in front of your comment. This also allows you to make it clear if you are also responding to something that someone else responded to if there are more than two people in the discussion; in that case you would indent the same amount as the person just above you in the thread. I hope that all makes sense. And at the end of the comment, please "sign" by typing exactly four (not 3 or 5) tildas like this "~~~~" which the WP software converts into a date stamp and links to your talk and user pages. That is how we know who said what (and why it is important that you sign in!) Will reply on the substance in a second... Jytdog (talk) 09:12, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

- OK, now I want to deal with the substance. First, please know that I am not going to engage with you about the content of the article. I am here to discuss your conflict of interest, and what that means about what you should do here in Wikipedia. I don't get involved in the content issues, because that confuses things. And you really need to deal with these fundamental issues about your role here and what it means before you start thinking about article content again. I hope that makes sense. So please don't bring up content anymore, in this discussion.
- Great, so you have acknowledged that you are a founder of the park. Great. You have a very clear relationship to, and strong interest in, the park. A commitment - a responsibility - to help the park thrive. That interest creates a conflict with your responsibilities and obligations to Wikipedia as a Wikipedia editor. You have a conflict of interest when you want to edit Wikipedia about the park. Do you see that? Please let me know. Once we get that established, we'll talk about what that means (don't worry, you still can be part of the community here - you just need to act differently than you have been) Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 09:18, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- So what exactly am I allowed to post? Adamflinn (talk) 09:25, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- I will take that as an acknowledgement. OK, so the first thing you should do, is make that disclosure on your User page, here: User:Adamflinn (it is red now, because you have not written anything there yet). Something simple, like: "I am a founder of Elephant Nature Park." Declaring your COI is the first step. Would you please do that? (Please don't add extra stuff - it is not OK to use your userpage for promotion - it is just for stuff about what you do here in Wikipedia)
- So what exactly am I allowed to post? Adamflinn (talk) 09:25, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- I've added a tag to the Elephant Nature Park article's talk page, so the disclosure is done there. Once you disclose on your user page, the disclosure piece of this will be done.
- As I noted above, there are two pieces to COI management in WP. The first is disclosure. The second is what I call "peer review". This piece may seem a bit strange to you at first, but if you think about it, it will make sense. In Wikipedia, editors can immediately publish their work, with no intervening publisher or standard peer review -- you can just create an article, click save, and viola there is a new article, and you can go into any article, make changes, click save, and done. No intermediary - no publisher, no "editors" as that term is used in the real world.
- What we ask editors to do who have a COI and want to work on articles where their COI is relevant, is a) if you want to create an article relevant to a COI you have, create the article as a draft, disclose your COI on the Talk page using the appropriate template, and then submit the draft article through the WP:AFC process so it can be reviewed before it publishes; and b) And if you want to change content in any existing article on a topic where you have a COI, we ask you to propose content on the Talk page for others to review and implement before it goes live, instead of doing it directly yourself. You can make the edit request easily - and provide notice to the community of your request - by using the "edit request" function as described in the conflict of interest guideline. I made that easy for you by adding a section to the beige box at the top of the Talk page at Talk:Elephant Nature Park - there is a link at "click here" in that section -- if you click that, the Wikipedia software will automatically format a section in which you can make your request.
- By following those "peer review" processes, editors with a COI can contribute where they have a COI, and the integrity of WP can be protected. We get some great contributions that way, when conflicted editors take the time to understand what kinds of proposals are OK under the content policies. (which I will say more about, if you want).
- I hope that makes sense to you.
- I want to add here that per the WP:COI guideline, if you want to directly update simple, uncontroversial facts (for example, correcting the facts about where a company has offices) you can do that directly in the article, without making an edit request on the Talk page. Just be sure to always cite a reliable source for the information you change, and make sure it is simple, factual, uncontroversial content. The goal here is to not be crazy bureaucratic and allow people to make simple, factual corrections. Nothing more complicated than an address.. please.
- Will you please agree to follow the peer review processes going forward, when you want to work on the Elephant Nature Park article or any article where your COI is relevant? Do let me know, and if anything above doesn't make sense I would be happy to discuss. And if you want me to quickly go over the content policies, I can do that. Just let me know. Thanks! - Seems still blocked form talk page Adamflinn (talk) 10:37, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, your account was blocked for 24 hours so the only pages you can edit during that time, are this page and your User page. Would you please make the disclosure on your User page? And do you want me to walk you through the relevant policies and guidelines, so that you understand what kind of content proposals will be accepted and which won't be? It would save you and everybody time, down the road. Jytdog (talk) 10:44, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

The file File:Our newest arrival. Faa Mai born at the park April 2009.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused low quality image, questionable sourcing
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 21:20, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
