I was not responsible for the deletion of your article (as I do not have the power to do that), but I did tag the article for deletion. I did this not out because of a white/heterosexist/conformist/whatever mindset, but because the article did not assert the subject's notability. While being an anti-racism advocate is certainly laudable, it is unfortunately not enough to warrant an entry in an encyclopedia. Being a director of films that are freely distributable via the Web is, again, not enough to establish notability. Perhaps Mr Holden has other accomplishments that would merit an entry--or perhaps he will do something in the future that would establish his notability. But the article as it stood did not assert it. Keep in mind that notability is not the same as importance or relevance.

I am very sorry you have not had a positive experience with Wikipedia thus far. I hope you will reconsider your decision, as I'm sure you would make a valuable contributor to our site. Wikipedia just has a lot of rules that many new users don't know about, and I am sure it is very frustrating. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help. If you would like a copy of the article you submitted for Mr Holden, I can have an administrator retrieve it for you. I wish you the best of luck, whatever your endeavors be. Cheers. -- Merope Talk to me/Review me 22:12, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew J. Holden

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Andrew J. Holden, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Andrew J. Holden is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Andrew J. Holden. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. -- Merope 15:01, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With respect to your commment about someone not existing. We don't care that you have the name in the article, just don't link to a non-existent article. The article has been blocked because one or more people have been spam-creating the article. --ArmadilloFromHell 21:32, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove maintenance notices from pages unless the required changes have been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. --ArmadilloFromHell 21:32, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With regard to your comments in an edit summary. It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! --ArmadilloFromHell 21:33, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I JUST WANT TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT AND GET OUT OF THIS information SYSTEM.

I never knew how terribly inarticulate Wikipedia is to the concerns and portrayals of individuals. We can't even leave, and the premise for that rule is laughable. Notability is based on 19th century encyclopedic standards. Criticial review such as Wikitruth is immeidatley deleted. I'm trying to strip my account of info - I feel embarrassed that I associated myself with this.

While I'm sure it's a lovely hobby for people, I thought I may be able to contribute information that is normally left out of (popular) histories of events. What a joke. Ocassionally, cursing is the best way to articulate a feeling, so I'll be brief:

I have nominated Cyberpunk Educator, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cyberpunk Educator. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. magnius (talk) 20:52, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Amber Amundson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No lasting notability due to WP:BLP1E.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
