I tried locating sources for revised casualty figures from your edit summary but to no avail. Also searched at Google books and Google scholar. Hi Achtung, and welcome to Wikipedia! Donnchad and Muirchertach met King Fedlim at Meelick, County Galway, in late July 1316. Both submitted to him, as he recognised them in opposition to each other. Days later at Athenry, Muirchertach had switched sides and fought with the Army of Athenry; he is believed to have been persuaded by his kinsman, Sir William Liath de Burgh, who was at Athenry.
