Michael Sandefer Wikipedia
[edit]What is an example of a reliable source or a documented source? We haven't gotten the IMDB page up for the movie yet and the youtube links are linked off of SAM 100.7's web page. Would that work? Mike-C (talk) 02:49, 6 September 2008 (UTC)apexigod
Well, I do have notability I mean I am in a movie with Al Snow and I imagine as soon as I get my profile up on IMDB is that considered a reliable source? What about SAM 100.7FM's actual web site? That's where the post their youtube video's. If I can get them endorsed by 'The Amplifier' which is a reliable source owned by the Bowling Green Daily News would that work? How come the SAM100.7 youtube isin't reliable? He says SAM 100.7 in the video and those celebs voices are there. I'm just trying to understand. Its in my best interest to have a wikipedia article about myself and my music act. I'm just trying to do it right Mike-C (talk) 04:43, 6 September 2008 (UTC)apexigod
Do you think CD Reviews done by music web sites and/or interviews would be a good place to start? I have an interview coming up that will be in the print version of 'The Amplifier' which is part of the Bowling Green Daily News newspaper here. Is that considered reliable you think? I mean, it irritates me you know? I'm being considered right now by Warner Brothers / Chappell Records for a development deal but I can't even get a Wikipedia page? LOL! One more thing...I almost forgot, IMDB can't be edited by anyone. We had to (as the entire cast) fax them letters of intent that we were doing the movie before they would put anything up and its impossible to edit things like that. Try to go to the movie Toy Story and put yourself as the voice for Buzz Lightyear, you know? How is IMDB unreliable? That's IMDB man. They are the Wikipedia of movies.Mike-C (talk) 02:07, 7 September 2008 (UTC)apexigod
Can you help me write it? I mean I'm in a movie that has people in it that will be in movies with Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal and people that have been in movies such as We Are Marshall, Big Momma's House II and other stuff. I'm being considered by Warner Brothers for a development record deal, I should qualify to be on this Wikipedia thing because at the current rate I'm going I will be famous in no time. I have read the stuff. I don't understand it man. Mike-C (talk) 22:19, 10 September 2008 (UTC)apexigod

A new state for 1861
[edit]While taking pictures in Western Kentucky the other day, I saw an historical marker on the Maysfield lawn saying how there was an attempt by seven KY and 20 TN counties to form a new state, before TN seceded. Have you heard anything about this?--Gen. Bedford his Forest 21:57, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't find much more on a quick Google search. Once I get done writing articles for all these enw pictures, I'll try to find more out. I wish we knew this before the Confederate government of Kentucky became FA. Anything new I find out I'll tell you.--Gen. Bedford his Forest 18:10, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
I just completed a revision of Kentucky Baptist Convention. What are your thoughts about it? Although the revision is an improvement, more work needs to be done. Thanks, Willking1979 (talk) 00:45, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments...I am not sure if there are any books that specifically deal with the KBC. We should ask other WP:KY and WikiProject Christianity participants for their help as well. If I am not mistaken, the Southern Baptists are Kentucky's largest Christian denomination. Happy Thanksgiving, Willking1979 (talk) 14:11, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Joseph Desha GA nom
[edit]Thank you for your excellent research work for the Joseph Desha article. I hope that one day this article can be a FA. It is a realistic goal for many of the Kentucky Governors, I think. As it now reads, the Desha article gives a good overview of his life. I'll be watching to see what the GA reviewers say. Again, thanks for the work that did on this article and the time you spend improving Kentucky related articles. Take care, FloNight♥♥♥ 18:34, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Fantastic! Getting all of these up to GA would be great. :-) Isaac Shelby has the potential to be FA because of the level of details that are available about him. Lack of information gaps in most of these Governors' lives because of documented military and political career makes most of them have FA potential. Having something colorful in their history means that more was written about them. That is the reason that Desha caught my eye as a potential FA. The stories about his son and his conflict with Horace Holley add quite a bit of flavor to the biography. John Adair's history is colorful, as well. My husband and I take pics of local historical sites, including graves, monuments, historical figures homes. We might have some of these already but I've not uploaded them. I have a backlog images to add to articles. If any articles would benefit from images let me know. FloNight♥♥♥ 16:25, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Luke P. Blackburn's grave
[edit]Good news :-) I do have Luke P. Blackburn's gravestone. I'll upload it to Commons today. I'll do the gravestone and also a separate image with the detail of the bas relief. FloNight♥♥♥ 18:54, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- I hope these work.
- Transy has a good special works reference section. I'm pretty sure that I could go there and make copies of the text or get them to do it if it needs special handling. FloNight♥♥♥ 19:55, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- I found it in the Special Collections catalog at Transy. On Tuesday, I'll call and see if I can get an appointment for Thursday. The weather is suppose to warm up on Thursday, after snow and freezing rain the next two days. I'll let you know when I find out. FloNight♥♥♥ 21:57, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Good news
[edit]After originally telling me she would not have time to copy the Jeroboam O. Beauchamp book this week, the Transy librarian emailed me to say it was ready. :-) My husband picked it up, already. We can put it in the mail as soon as I have your address. FloNight♥♥♥ 19:47, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Richard Hawes
[edit]Of course there's doubt Hawes was inaugurated; inauguration usually includes taking the oath of office, which Hawes himself denied. (Granted, he had reason to deny it; but all I need show is doubt.)
I quote section 14 of the alleged Confederate consitution: The constitution and laws of Kentucky, not inconsistent with the acts of this convention, and the establishment of this government, and the laws which may be enacted by the governor and council, shall be the laws of this State. It describes the handful of men it set up as a "provisional Government", and looked forward to "the restoration of a permanent government". I shall rephrase. I placed a refimprove tag on Lindsey Wilson College--an article needing attention--because there were only two refs and there were several cases of unreferenced information in the article. Your thoughts?? Merry Christmas, Willking1979 (talk) 03:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments. As an loyal alum of Alice Lloyd, I thought it was right to improve the article while maintaing NPOV. Regarding the other colleges, indeed more work is needed. I've been trying to catch up today after some off-wiki commitments and internet issues yesterday afternoon and earlier this morning. Willking1979 (talk) 14:47, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Alice Lloyd College alumni
[edit]Thanks for reverting the non-notable alumni....I myself saw it and was not sure how to proceed with those edits by the IP and the single-purpose account holder. I am watching your page, so reply here. Thanks, Willking1979 (talk) 22:52, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- Unless there is an iron-clad source showing notability beyond a reasonable doubt, I usually revert redlinked names and if the individual persists in adding them, I tell them to write an article on the person first and see if it survives AfD. If it does, they can add them to the list; if not, que sera sera. Acdixon (talk • contribs • count) 23:03, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your advice. I reverted one of the redlinked names but it was undone by another user. I kept it as is because I wasn't sure what to do and I was afraid that the newbie may accuse me of edit warring. Have a great weekend, Willking1979 (talk) 23:28, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- Replied to your new message on my talk page. Willking1979 (talk) 02:54, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
