Abu Dhabi Polytechnic was establish in the year of 2011. This institute currently offers Higher Diploma Programs in the followings areas:

  • Nuclear Technology
  • Semmiconductor Technology
  • Oil and Gas Technology
  • Information and Communication Technology with emphasize on the following specialization tracks:
- Software Applications Development and Engineering
- Systems and Servers Administration
- Computer Networks and Security Engineering, and
- Simulators and Game Development.

The flagship higher diploma programs at AD Poly consist of the Higher Diploma in Nuclear Technology, Semiconductor Technology (HDST), Oil and Gas Technology, and Information and Communication Technology with the emphasize on Developing Delphian Software Applications and Computer Networks Technology. These programs aim to provide the necessary balance of knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for a career in the nuclear power industry or the semiconductor manufacturing industry, oil and gas technology, and information and communication technology.

Graduates from the program will be able to:

  • Assume technical positions to apply current technologies,
  • List item make technical judgments,
  • Assist professional engineers to transfer and to develop new technologies, and
  • List item communicate clearly both in writing and orally in supervisory positions.

To achieve these aims, the Higher Diploma programs consist of a balance (consistent with international technical standards) of lectures, tutorials, and laboratory work, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) and On-the-Job Performance (OJP)at related industrial centers. The curriculum includes general and specialized studies in nuclear power plant operation, mechanical systems, electrical systems, instrumentation and control, chemistry, and radiation protection for the HDNT; and, in thin films, chemical/mechanical polishing, etching, lithography, diffusion, implantation, and contamination-free manufacturing for the HDST. In addition to the afore stated knowledge areas, students will be introduced to four different specialization tracks holding cutting edges and trends in world-class information and communication technologies. Nevertheless, students will be trained to secure software applications, systems and servers, and computer networks. Moreover, students creativity is freed on developing high-technological simulators and interactive games.

The AD Poly integrates knowledge and practical skills through balanced delivery of academic material at AD Poly and on-the-job training by a nuclear industry training provider. This offers the students a solid career path towards gaining an accredited Higher Diploma in all of the aforementioned programs in engineering tomorrow's technology while receiving training leading to job qualification certificates different knowledge areas and internationally recognized-technology solutions providers.
