Just saw your comment about the dead references in Academic degree. Normally if a link to another site is dead and it is not being used as a reference then it is removed. If the link is being used as a reference then it is usually kept. There is more information at Wikipedia:Link rot. If you know of an alternate source or where the link may have moved to then feel free to fix it. On the other hand it can be difficult to find a moved page especially if the subject isn't one with which you are familiar.
