License tagging for Image:Saro Skeeter.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Saro Skeeter.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:05, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Saro-skeeter-helicopter.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Your VandalProof Application

[edit]

Dear Aborrows,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.

WP:AIV

[edit]

When I examined Special:Contributions/204.244.150.7 and User talk:204.244.150.7, I saw that

  • The user had made good edits on May 31
  • The last warning had been on May 27, and there had been good edits after that
  • The user had only made one bad edit since the last good edit.
  • The "Final warning" was from May 3, more than a month ago

Based on this evidence, I decided to assume that (since this is an IP, which might be shared, lazy me didn't check) the vandal might not be the same user as the one warned before, so I treated him like a newbie and issued a {{test2}}.

You probably read the "final warning" on the user's talk page and decided to report him instead of issuing one more warning. That is a common and entirely understandable assumption. However, if a "final warning" is this old, the IP user might not even have seen it (the new messages box probably popped up only several days earlier), so it is better to warn again that to block - anyway, often a warning stops vandalism just as efficient as a block, and only if a fresh warning does not help, blocking is necessary.

This is getting lengthy - if you have further questions, I'll answer them, but I'll stop here. Thank you for volunteering to fight vandalism, happy editing, Kusma (討論) 03:30, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Monty Python TfD compromise

[edit]

There is a compromise now posted on the TfD if you are still interested in this debate. One question, even though you are against this TfD, have you even taken the master template out for a test drive?

An exciting opportunity to improve yourself!

[edit]

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 05:44, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
