Information icon Thanks for contributing the new article Andrea De Nicolao. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources, preferably using an inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Thanks! P.S. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Wikipedia editing policy

[edit]

Hello, having come across a number of your edits and article creations that required either deletion or fixes to conform to wikipedia's editing policy I'd like to remind of some facets of that policy. Every claim made on wikipedia has to be sourced, I've noticed that a good part of your edits contain no references whatsoever in contravention to Wikipedia:Verifiability. Furthermore not all sources are equal, those coming from blogs or non-reliable websites should be discounted (see WP:RELIABLE), as a rule of thumb what is commonly accepted are sources from news agencies, newspapers/their websites, official organisations (though only in conjunction with independent sources) and websites that are themselves known to be notable and reliable (DraftExpress, RealGM for example) which excludes a lot of basketball websites that are in effect blogs. When using a source that is not in English (which is preferred but realistically not always possible) be sure to put both the original title and the translated title (Wikipedia:NOENG), if you struggle to translate it because you do not have a solid grasp on the language then you don't have enough understanding of the source to quote it. For referencing the sources, the most commonly used method is via the Template:Cite web with ALL of the commonly used parameters (example at the top of the page) filled in if available (date is not always given and website and publisher can be the same). This is only part of the policy but respecting this and using common sense certifies that only information that is notable (as in notable enough to go into an encyclopedia) is inserted into wikipedia, notability implies significant coverage by multiple, reliable and independent sources (WP:GNG). Some of your edits (such as the creation of a number of Pallacanestro Reggiana players with no reliable and independent sources]) did not answer that logic. I'd rather not have to trail your actions all the time to fix them, the fact you're passionate about the subject does not make it inherently notable. --ArmstrongJulian (talk) 10:26, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

All articles need clear sources, and for articles on living people, like Andris Misters, they need to be WP:INLINECITED. Can you please add them to the article? Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 20:09, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As you have continued to edit yet have left this as an unref blp, I have moved it to draftspace. Please resubmit via WP:AFC only when it has clear sources. Boleyn (talk) 20:58, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Andris Misters

[edit]

Hello, Abolitis. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Andris Misters".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. » Shadowowl | talk 11:43, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2020–21 Kazakhstan Basketball Championship, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ~ Amkgp 💬 19:49, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
