You CAN contest speedy deletion, but you CAN NOT remove the tags!

In response to your message on my talk page, you ARE permitted to remove the Proposed deletion tag on S Srikanta yourself. While a page creator may not remove a Speedy deletion tag, he/she may remove a Proposed deletion tag at will. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with S Srikanta. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. G.
