Hi, A p3rson. In a July/August 2010 policy discussion (at Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not/Archive 34#Does WP:NOTMYSPACE apply to secret pages?), community consensus was that the policy Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not prohibits secret pages. Would you tag for deletion the page User:A p3rson/dev/null with {{db-userreq}}? Thank you, Cunard (talk) 00:53, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Because the page is hosted in your userspace, you can apply the CSD criterion WP:CSD#U1 {{db-userreq}} to your own page. Cunard (talk) 06:25, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- If you agree with deleting the page because it violates WP:NOT, you can apply {{db-userreq}} to the page because it is your own page. Cunard (talk) 00:51, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- I do not agree with deleting the page, because it does not warrant so according to WP:CSD. A p3rson ‽ 01:15, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Speedy deletion applies to the page only if you agree with deleting the page. Pages that violate Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not are brought to MfD where they are deleted. Before initiating an MfD, I wanted to ask if you would tag the page for deletion yourself. Cunard (talk) 01:34, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Go ahead with the MfD, but as far as I know, I am not the only person who has a problem with this. As long as its 1 page, and that I am not using Wikipedia solely for that page, it looks like it's fine. A p3rson ‽ 03:23, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- I've reviewed the page again, and have a question for you. Do you intend the page to be a game, where the devaluing of barnstars occurs when barnstars are given to those who find the page, or is this page more like a humorous page, a play off /dev/null? Cunard (talk) 05:13, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Its a humorous page, where people who look at the edit notice to see a link to ther page about /dev/null. If they lookup that page in my namespace, they get the page. Not a barnstar awarding, but just a simple little page, where people who got the joke can sign. No harm done. A p3rson ‽ 19:33, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- Because this is a humorous page and not a game, I will not nominate it for deletion. Cunard (talk) 05:53, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
